Ackley Improved UserLargest 375 possible with a 300 Win Mag action?
What is the largest .375 caliber one could load in a 300 Win Mag action, while using the same bolt as with the 300 Win mag? I'm guessing it might be the .375 Ackley Improved. You thoughts please. Regards, AIU

vapodogwhich rifle.....M-70...or M-700...the M-700 is longer and can handle the .375 Weatherby as-is....the M70 requires reasonable amounts of alteration to handle the longer rounds.
If we're talking about the M-70 Classic, (and I'm assuming that the wildcats are OK since you mentioned the .375 AI) one could retain the bolt face and neck up the 338 RUM and shorten it a bit.
One could also just use the .375 Ruger (when it gets here) The Ruger would be a new barrel only while the RUM case usage will likely require an opening of the rails.
The standard action length Rum modification might equal the .375 Weatherby performance.

boom stickif you are going for 2.65" or 68 mm...
a 2.65" rum is the most sensable...
also known as the i'll fated 375 a.r. but due to the 375 ruger it is in the circular file

jeffeosso375 ruger is your best choice, larger than a 375x300win.
unless you have a model 70, it's co$t prohibitive to do a 375hh/Wheatherby on a standard action.
you CAN do a 375 webby on a ruger 77... change the box, less work than a model 98

Ackley Improved UserI would like to just put a new barrel on my 300 Win Mag. It's a M700. Would changing the rails for a 375 RUM ruin the gun for the 300 Win Mag? I believe a 375 RUM or 375 AI would be more than adequate. Where can I read about the 375 Rugar? Your thoughts. Regards, AIU

Install a 375 Weatherby barrel. It's better than the AI version.....some think it's the same thing!
It's a helluva lotta power.
