In moderately priced dot scopes, the UltraDot has a good reputation. In the high end units, the Aimpoint 9000 seems to be the class of the field. analog_peninsula ----------------------- It takes character to withstand the rigors of indolence.

Aimpoint CompC3 (50,000 hrs. of battery life) and the Bushnell Holosight (which holds up to .454 Casull recoil). Personally, I'd rather have a 1x scope with crosshairs, but a red dot would be my second choice. George

might as well go all out tacky... hunt with plaid and polka dotts to make the game dizzy or natious while you put the dot on its vitals all in good fun...now rebarrel and make that gun a 500 a2! dont mix belts and shoulders 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. I would expect that the Holoscope will hold up ... it has been used on M2 .50 BMG weapons. Their standard 1 minute dot inside a circle should be about perfect. For a trimmer but less sturdy design from the standpoint of impact by brush, the C-More Serendipity rail sight should also work but it should be ordered with a small dot. The standard 8 minute dot will be too large. I know these will are very non-traditional, but they should also be the fastest sights money can buy. They are hell on wheels for moving targets with handguns and M4 carbines. They also solve the "right handed-left master eye" problem that some folks have. While he is an enthusiastic, even rabid, booster of big bore cartridges, I think boom stick's only big bores are Marlins and/or Handi-Rifles, which would preclude his having a 500 A-Square. bs, did you ever build that .470AR? George

I was not aware at the time ,,{ isn,t that always the problem} That Talley made 30 mm for the CZ550..... I wanted to put a leupold 1.5-5 30 mm with the circle dot reticle.......Instead I put a 1.5x6 x40 Burris 1 " tube with the Electra Dot reticle on my rifle......I,m very happy with it, but want to try the circle dot reticle.......The duplex makes a good 400 yrd post, on my scope.......mstarling may have good advice , but I,ve never heard of them...... I haven,t heard of lots of things so ..........My 500 A-Square I ordered with just the express sights , but after I got it and shot for a while I discovered it would work just great to 300 yards so I sent it back to A-Square and had them put a 4x leupold pistol scope on it in detachable mounts..... It worked fine......Even better after I took a belt sander to the XX walnut butt stock and made the check area fit...... Nothing wrong with a bit of magnification on a real rifle................Gumboot .. out. .If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

i have a millet 30 mm on a ruger #1 in 458 win mag... inormally shoot the 350 gr sp federal premiums... but i have also shot the 510 gr stuff from winchester... i like the millet... it has 11 different degrees of brighness... and has handled 60 plus rounds so far....i get lots of comments.... until people shoot it.. then they like it....only downfall i have is that the dot covers a deer-sized critter at 100 yds... go big or go home ........ I use a holosight on my socially unacceptable .50 Beowulf and on the mighty .600OK. Rob, How did you mount the Holosight on the bolt rifle? Is it an N cell or AA cell powered unit? I have used them on race pistols, subguns, and M4s ... thinking that it might make a good backup to an optical sight on a .458 AR. Thanks! Just out of curiousity, what did you have to do to your CZ to make it a .460? Was it an expensive bit of work? I heal fast and don't scar.
