The top rifle looks fantastic but I would prefer a fixed magazine (however I understand the need for a detachable one in Europe).

These Classic stocks are very neat!

I think he saw the Verney Carron. But i have only pictures of heym. I have heard that heym plans for the future a magazine safety. If you prefer a fixed magazine, I think the Express is your weapon

Constantly trying to copy the Brits of old. Trying anyway. But with straight stocks. Gee, I wonder how long it took them to figure that out. ------------------------------- Will / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. Will Are you talking about Heym specifically or Germany gun makers in general ? Agree if heym. I reckon some of the Sporting mausers / cartridges are one's the UK copied from Germany. .
|
One of Us |
Yeah like all the best English Makers using German actions for their bolt guns, then and now.

I'm an Anglophile at the best of times (and quite happy to metion the war !!! LOL) but credit where credit is due, the UK copied a far amount from the German's in the early years and as you and I agree, used and continue to use the actions. I will say that some German guns with the steep drop stocks are bloody awful !!! and it is good to see them change to some straight stocks. .

Totally agree. Hideous. Have to give Anglos credit for all the great hopped up shotgun designs they've produced though. AND some really great SS designs as well.

I use 3 Heyms, 2 sr 30`s 1 in 30-06 and a 22-250 and a safari model in 458. Excellent workmanship, great accuracy and just great all round rifles. My 30-06 is the go to rifle, hits whats its pointed at and just does what it says on the box. The 22-250 is one I had built before Heym brought out their own 22-250, I bought a sr30 308 and had it rebarrelled with a Schillin barrel, that thing is more accurate than I will ever be. Heym rifles and Swarovski optics and I think I got good set ups. Yes they are a bit more expensive than others but mine are working tools and I know they work.
