tomahawkerPheasants of the Mind
By Datus Proper.
Great book, very fun reading, charming and witty. If you’ve ever been outwitted by a bird brain you’ll get it. Don’t think this is a humorous book, it’s deadly serious about hunting pheasants. A lil scatter brained in writing but I came to like it just for that. It’s like pheasant hunting.

HannayAgreed. I think he was a great writer. His book on trout flies (What the Trout Said) is also excellent.
He died in 2003 while out fly fishing.
