Thanks, Saeed + boom sick. That is a good idea for a forum. As to ideas, I live out in the country where a power outage could be bad news if it lasted; primarily because the well runs on electricity. Being without water is a killer (literally). I installed a generator w/ a switch over from the electric + changed the carburetor for L.P. as it will not go bad as gasoline will. In my house, I have wood stoves as back up for my L.P. units + I cook with gas + also mounted a L.P. lamp above the stove + at the heads of the stairs. I've always been pretty prepared but my real wakeup call was in 1996 when we had a major ice storm that took out trees + thus all electricity for 2 weeks. We did O.K. but most did not. I keep beaucoup of rice + beans as a regular item + as you say + I agree, stock things that you will use anyway. Independence will give you peace of mind. Let us hope that this current national/worldwide emergency gives a lot of folks a wake up call.

Never mistake motion for action.

Wow! Wonderful! Now, before we get into detailed discussions of the advantages of propane generators over gasoline, solar roof panels and battery storage etc. let me ask:
How many loaded magazines of 223 do I need?
Should I keep them in one place or stash them throughout the house?
When JTEX and his buddies come looking for me because I am "the enemy", is it OK to open the discussion at 850 yards?
I have a bunch of 308 rounds loaded with 168 gr. Matchkings. Should I pull the bullets now, or can I use them at a pinch. They are obviously not optimum but I can use them at a pinch, right?
Should I invest in some body armor? Do I need trauma plates?
As a newbie, I am hoping I get some really good advice.
Peter

Thank you Saeed. Should make for interesting reading, but not sure how to "prep" while living on the road doing things that make me an uneducated undesirable moving the groceries. Oh well, we all do our part.

Socialist prepping is short lived till your prepping is put into use. I guess if you want to test your ability to survive SHTF just vote socialism and experience Venezuela here at home.

Have at least 10 Thermold 30/45 mags loaded, with bottom plate extended they will be loaded forever.
Keep at least 6 on a tactical vest you grab when needed and two in the REDI MAG installed on your AR.

168 grains Matching .308 is very appropriate to keep social distancing.
