Anyone have any recent experience with this? We may fly Cathay Pacific Jo-berg - Hong Kong - LA next year. We would check the firearms through on Cathay and not "take possession". ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

I transited through HK on the way to Australia and had no problems, I believe the only Asian country that won't allow guns to transit through regardless of whether you get off the plane is Singapore.

What year did you do this? Was there any permitting process? ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

I was in Hong Kong a month ago. While at the airport I spoke to a police officer on duty who mentioned that firearms in transit were not allowed. You could send an email to HK police to enquire.

Lynx If the firearms are in transit and not in the persons possession then the firearms are not in HK but in international space. Singapore is the only country that is a PITA with permits etc for transit AFAIK. Previously 500N with many thousands of posts !
