FrostbitTransiting Hong Kong with firearm
Anyone have any recent experience with this? We may fly Cathay Pacific Jo-berg - Hong Kong - LA next year. We would check the firearms through on Cathay and not "take possession".

CumbrianI transited through HK on the way to Australia and had no problems, I believe the only Asian country that won't allow guns to transit through regardless of whether you get off the plane is Singapore.

What year did you do this? Was there any permitting process?

LynxI was in Hong Kong a month ago. While at the airport I spoke to a police officer on duty who mentioned that firearms in transit were not allowed.
You could send an email to HK police to enquire.

If the firearms are in transit and not in the persons possession then the firearms are not
in HK but in international space.
Singapore is the only country that is a PITA
with permits etc for transit AFAIK.
