Guys, I brought mine back as extra luggage last year. Hearing that's not possible this year without a 3-177 and USFW inspection. Any experiences in 2017? Thanks, Ski+3

"As per our phone conversation, you are planning on importing a Daghestan tur (Capra caucasica cylindricornis) hunting trophy from Azerbaijan into SFO on 10/3/2017 via passenger baggage. I have attached a general information sheet for you to review. Please note, C. caucasica is a CITES protected species. You will need to determine if a CITES document is required by Azerbaijan to export said trophy." A quote from an email received by FWS. Now I'm really confused.

It will require a CITES export certificate before it can leave the country. They can sometimes be arranged before you leave, but talk to your agent or outfitter about it to find out if it's possible. If not you will need to ship it.
