I spent last week in AR and although we started in rain, then ice then warm days, I had a great time with my friends. I limited each day by 8:30-9:00. I again found the 12 ga 3" Kent Fast Steel in #2's to be an excellent choice. My only regret is we weren't goose hunting. There were thousands of Speck's, Snow/Blue/Ross geese in the area. I shall return soon for the late light goose season. Hopefully, I will have our pics soon and will post them. Looking forward to your pics, David. I see you too like the Kent # 2s. I've settled on the 1 1/8 oz load @ 1550 (I think). Works very nicely on big ducks, as well as geese and seaducks. When shooting in close over decoys exclusively I like the #4s. ______________________ Hunting: I'd kill to participate. | |||

KG, just got off the phone with one of my local buddies. They shot limits for the last 4 days in AR. Was a good hunt even though the weather turned very warm. They were hunting a pit in a flooded corn field. Usually, I like Kent or Winchester #1's when big ducks are decoy shy. It will nail those marginal birds that like to stay just outside of our decoys, and geese that decoy. But when shooting the late season Snow's, I switch to BB's. It really does a great job as I'm not a fan of chasing cripples across a muddy field. Thanks for the report LDK. I like the Kent FastSteel, I believe they were making a super fast 1,650 fps steel load. That thing patterned really well in my Benelli with a Mod choke. It was the wrath of God on ducks...they died in mid-air with it. Kicked like a mule though in 3 1/2". Love Arkansas late in the season...be it flooded timber or fields....birds are in full plumage....also they feed you real well down there  | |||
