When I bushhog my yard, most times the egret's will follow me to get at the insects that they can now see. One time I saw one grab a mouse by the tail, throw it up in the air and catch it and swallow it head first. | |||

I've seen lots of regular barn yard chickens eat mice. And I saw a mallard drake eat a frog once. I've shot a lot of early season pheasants and grouse that had grasshoppers in their crops. So I'm guessing it isn't too uncommon. | |||
