Of course the study probably has merit.

I always figured conservatives had some screws loose, instead of wiring. Wink

Regardless, it's still no excuse for bad, such as voting for Trump or his clone.

Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Yet there are many radicalized republicans.

D.J. Trump aka Trumpism's Founding Farter, aka Farter Martyr. Qualifications: flatulence - mental, oral and anal.

Understanding this will influence how researchers think about potential interventions.”

Most of that article seems like common sense to me and how I would have hypothesized the experiment to turn out.

The above quote however is what stands out and bothers me.

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

I would question causality more than anything.

If one uses a certain part of the brain more than another, it would seem likely to be a more active part.

As to using it, I see some glaring glitches.

Don’t forget the demonizing of folks who were concerned about the various Covid acts. Some here were all for forcing them…

And now it appears that they had some significant ground that they were correct about.

If we can tell who is radicalized by a PET scan, it could be of use- if it is truly an accurate test. But what if it is used inappropriately?

Slippery slope and unintended consequences abound here.

Funny
Most of European nations have multiple parties but in nutshell, only two sides, left and right and of course there are fringe ones but just like individuals, you either conservative or liberal for most part

I usually associate "interventions" with cult-like behavior.

Anyway, looking at the definition of the word, for many, participations herein could be considered attempts at intervention. Smiler

There is a lot of research out there indicating that the single most important factor in formulation of political ideology is your parents and family. Just like everything else.
