So much for HIPPA. Those assholes used to call me back in the 1990's trying to get me to switch prescription meds. There is no healthcare info privacy.

HIPPA is a joke. It provides no penalties for violations.

As a contracts law professor once told my class, "Legislation without sanction is mere advice."

Here GIPPA violations go to the AG and have no criminal penalty. Also, one cannot sue for a HIPPA violation.

Unless, the entity is going into med record or med info collection entities, I do not see a HIPPA violation.

Except HIPPA compliance has made getting information in a timely manner between medical practices all but impossible.

Yet another overreach over regulation.

HIPPA is not an administrative regulation. It is a Federal Act.

I agree a the protection of folks healthcare information.

I deal with HIPOA everyday. It is barely an annoyance.

I would make it stronger. Anyone who violates, especially doctors, 250k fine and upyo 5 years in prison.

We do that at the fed level with folks tax information.

Let us post the Federal Act.

Al states will have adopted the Federal Act, or had the matter preempted by Federal law.

https://www.govinfo.gov/conten.../PLAW-104publ191.pdf

Health Insurance Portability And Account Ability Act of 1996.

The Fed subpsrt concerning privacy is Title 45 Subsection 164.520.

This would be our Ensblinf Statute for any administrative regulations that flow.
