Also, some of imported petroleum may be stored and later exported.

Natural gas imports peaked in 2007

Total U.S. annual natural gas imports in 2007 reached about 4.61 Tcf (12.62 billion cubic feet per day [Bcf/d]) and have generally declined each year since then. In 2022, total annual U.S. natural gas imports were about 3.02 Tcf (8.28 Bcf/d), which was about 8% more than in 2021 and the highest volume since 2017. Some of this imported natural gas may have been exported.
Most of U.S. natural gas imports are from Canada

In 2022, about 99% of U.S. total annual natural gas imports were from Canada and nearly all by pipeline. A small amount of CNG —0.01% of total natural gas imports—was tranported by truck from Canada. About 1% of total U.S. natural gas imports was LNG; 99% was from Trinidad and Tobago and the remainder was from Canada. U.S. natural gas imports are generally highest in winter when imports help meet increases in natural gas demand for heating.

to sum up you are importing from us to export oil and natural gas but continue to fool your self as you do not need canada lol

Sonny, we export more LNG than canada PRODUCES -
(nat gas is a slightly different product as one's a LIQUID under high pressure, and one's a gas- i don't expect you be able to process boyle's law on that, but it's HUGE)

it's cute how to mix and match unrelated and different time frame stats .. it's like you believe this ...

then stops to buy your low quantity of oil and natural gas and see how it goes for your economy ...

jeffe, let s do some maths for the one that is explaining a lot without understanding his own production ...

you are producing or produced 11.87 million b/d and importing 6.28 million b/d of crude oil and exporting about 3.58 million b/d.

so with not importation of crude oil you cannot export plain and simple ... and btw you imported 3.945 million b/d from canada so of course our product from canada is not needed ... now explain what i do not understand lol ...

those numbers are for 2022 ...

i edited those as i wrote first yhose ...

and now for natgas let s have fun ...

you imported from canada in 2022 2.99 trillion cubic feet (tcf) on a total of annual U.S. natural gas imports were about 3.02 Tcf again we are nothing and not needed ... in the same time you exported 6.93 Tcf

your production is 36.35 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) for 2022. so i will repeat and numbers are clear you do not need at all for your oil or natural gas exportation up to the time you will realize that without canada your exportation will be harder to realise ... enjoy the math lesson my little jeffe and take care ...
