RFK is a unique individual for sure. And while being eccentric, he is nobody’s fool. I listened to his speech today and the first half identified every major topic that I worry about for this country.

He turned his support to Trump for all the right reasons.

While his support may be small in the big scheme of things…his support behind a major candidate will resonate. This election will be decided by independents and he will bring a significant portion to Trump.

The first half of his speech was fantastic.

Birds of a feather radicalize together.

Where is he going to turn? Same for his supporters. Radicals rarely un-radicalize. Instead, their only option is to double-down.

Swing states were won and lost last time by margins smaller than the vote for third parties
No wonder we have marvels like "top two" primaries to disallow them.

Lane, to use a phrase you seem to be particularly fond of, your journey is almost complete. Walz is "f***ing insane" and RFK Jr is a "unique . . . eccentric" genius. If anyone ever had any doubt (and most fortunately don't) as to your propensity to shape and mold information in convoluted and bizarre ways to fit your own demented views, there you have it.

RFK turned his support to Trump after Harris turned him down. His offer was/is support in exchange for a cabinet position, or any appointed position that doesn't require congress approval. It's transactional, something Trump likes and understands, but that doesn't mean Trump will keep his bargain. He's likely to use RFK for whatever he's worth (not much) then throw him under the bus. RFK just wants to be relevant, although he hasn't been and never will be.

If you think RFK is the sort of person who can solve problems that you deem important there's something wrong with either your problems, your judgment, or both.

I think that perhaps you are mainstream Texan. But you forgot to mention salt-of-the-earth too. Roll Eyes

If one feels the need for identity's sake to be mainstream something or other, that's dandy for whatever it's worth to the individual. But being mainstream or majority regarding opinions doesn't make it right. Facts are what they are. Opinions vary.
