Trump says he’s made 200 trade deals already as a result of his tariffs. Considering that there are only 195 countries on the planet, apparently there are also extraterrestrials out there who are also “kissing his ass”. Very impressive! https://www.politico.com/news/...war-tariffs-00309294

It really doesn’t matter, Trumps signature on any agreement isn’t worth the ink he used. He lies and breaks every ‘deal’ he’s ever entered into. Why would anyone bother?

not my post or strawman -- i think the tariff play is stupid in about 85% of the cases -- though i think tit for tat on tariffs/barriers to entry is generally a reasonable starting ground - if country 1 charges X% on paired product N, then being charged the same rate is, well, exactly fair and equitable - as one can't "make up for past offenses" the rates should be the same ... Say, what's the Canadian tariff on US dairy, again? What thing from Canada faces a paired US tariff -- but, it's a stupid game -- if the "offending" country isn't at least 1% of trade, who really cares? For example, pork to/from some countries is a non-issue opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? In a recent social media post, President Donald Trump railed against Canada’s “Anti-American Farmer Tariff of 250% to 390% on various U.S. dairy products.” While technically correct, the president’s synthesis oversimplifies the United States’ complex agricultural trade agreement with Canada, called the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. That isn’t to say it’s flawless. The agreement has been a thorn in the American dairy industry’s foot since it was negotiated by the first Trump Administration in 2018. Under the TRQ, Canada accepts a certain amount of dairy products duty-free, without tariffs. “Above and beyond that cap, you are charged a tariff in the realm of 250-270%. That's the simplest way to think about it. Our complaint is we're not able to get anywhere near that cap, even though we have buyers who tell us they would like to bring in our product,” she says, noting the specific tariff rate depends on the product. Only a few commodities, including dairy and sugar, are restricted by TRQs under the USMCA. They are a common trade mechanism that countries use to protect vulnerable industries. The U.S. tariffs additional sugar imports the same way Canada restricts dairy, according to Ronald Baumgarten, Jr., counsel for the law firm BakerHostetler and a former deputy assistant U.S. trade representative under the first Trump administration. ============ Oh shit! And that is what I have said. Obstacles are put in place by the canadian gov, so the us cannot even reach the agreed amount. Everyone should play fair.

Yep, we need honesty in these conversations, and as another farmer who's supply company has tried to export into Canada, historically they have been the worst to deal with by way of putting bricks in the road. Requirement hoops we had to jump through, Included treating stock water to human consumption grade and establishing a solid boundary fence for the property. all 2400acres with a minimum of 1.5 meters of wind cloth or a 2 meter double fence offset where the farm bordered another farm. Bloody ridiculous stuff.
