I don't know what his strategy might be, but he has accomplished little. He has managed to make Trudeau less unpopular. He has managed to alienate a majority of Canadians. Canada's response to Trump's blustering bullshit should be to ignore him while seeking out alternative markets for exports. Also, building up a manufacturing base and refining our own raw materials, rather than exporting them. Trump talks about a 51st state (more bullshit, of course), he can only be doing this in an attempt to piss people off. Canada, while deep in debt after 9 years of Liberal waste, can potentially get out of debt. The US cannot, except by defaulting. Of course, defaulting on a debt is nothing new to Donald Trump. I'm not sure that this tariff thing is part of the Project 2025 fascist manifesto, which Trump doesn't have the aptitude to implement by himself. And the problem with that is that he thinks he knows it all and doesn't listen. That may be a saving grace. He can't help. Instead, he could just get in their way.
