This is the best reporting I can find on the matter.

https://www.washingtonexaminer...ptop-gop-resolution/

From what I can gather DOJ elicited testimony that the laptop was authentic and has bank records.

So, Jtex the testimony in this trial obtained by DOJ prosecutors is legitimate. However, a state prosecution of Trump is rigged by the DOJ? I do not see how you can have that both ways.

I believe the laptop is HV. I believe it has his business records.

The reporting nor you have explained to us how President Biden is involved in those alleged bank records on said HB laptop in some short of pay for an access. One would think of President Biden was worried about some grand criminal scheme he would have pardoned HB. Thus, no facts of the scheme would come to light in a trial.

When someone can show payment la to President Biden that are illegal, I will call for his impeachment and prosecution.

Counselor, present your case.

I wait with bated breath.

I think the argument is that the various intelligence executives knew it was not Russian disinformation yet they put out a letter saying it was, despite the intelligence community/DOJ knowing better.

Supposedly the FBI had investigated the laptop and found it to be Hunter Biden's and the information on it not doctored or false flag information well before that letter was published.

It was an example of our supposedly apolitical intelligence apparatus deciding to take sides under the cloak of authority (the signers were documented as various intelligence officials...)

We are still waiting for you to demonstrate how this implicates President Biden.

And the opinion, even under oath, of one investigator does not destroys the position of 50 senior officials.

The laptop with business records may be real.

It may be real the idea that it proves a pay for access scheme is misinformation.

You guess!!!

Suspecting that it was Russian disinformation by the 51 former senior intelligence officials was well grounded in their experience and recent Russian activity with clear intent.

Those guys' suspicion trumps your guessing every time.

The misinformation is that it prices a pay for access scheme that the President was aware of and profited from.

It does not hurt my feelings to say the laptop is real w business record on it.

Thst does not mean the 50 senior officials are incorrect in telling us that the allegations of a pay for access scheme involving the President is true.

When you got something on that, I read it.

When you have evidence that such is true by a preponderance of the evidence m, I will call for the President’s impeachment.

Still waiting.

That's the same as asking does conspiracy theories have greater relation to reality than the professionals' opinion in any agency, including the FBI, CIA, etc.

Of course, the answer is No.

First of all, JTEX would never qualify for the job as a real employee of practically any govt agency, except perhaps under Trump, where the only qualification necessary there is to be a loyal indoctrinated dumb-fuck. He could never pass the psychological test - for sanity, as a govt employee with security clearance.

No, it's not only on ARPF.

I looked back at the premises of this thread. It seems to be two things.

One, the data supposedly from the hard drive, or external hard drive was suspected to have Russian involvement. There was good basis for such suspicion.

Claiming the 51 lied to the American people is itself a lie to the public.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...telligence_officials

"We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement—just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case."

https://www.politico.com/news/...ssian-disinfo-430276

Second, I think it's true that the laptop was shown to actually Hunter Biden's, but that doesn't prove that the data was pure.

There is a long explanation for the proven manipulation of the data, and the inability of experts to say for sure what is unmolested or pure.

This is the kind of stuff that would not hold up as evidence in court, but it's plenty good for GOPers like Comer and Jordon to run with it as fodder for their conspiracy theories.

You say, "Only on ARPF". No, this conspiracy theory BS is harbored, cherished, fomented in OUR halls of Congress, by none other than GOPers. It's pure political weaponization.

According to the NYT data on the laptop was used by the prosecution as some of the evidence for Hunter's conviction over a firearm purchase.

I'll take that as a fact, and haven't disputed it.

It has been clearly established that the laptop is/was real.

I have seen zero evidence that the content was tampered with.

I have seen zero evidence that there was any Russian involvement with the laptop.

Therefore, it seems pretty well established that the 51 lied.

The 51 lying is not surprising to me. I expect as much these days. Sad…but expected.

Your analysis is flawed.

You leave out a lot, make mighty leaps in connecting dots, then reach preconceived conclusions. ("sad but expected")

You are guilty of not just swallowing lies, but subsisting on them.

Here's an example of where you get your info (if not news). This is more than disgusting. They have to know what they are doing, and the harm, but don't care and zealously do it anyway.

In listening to this video, one should check emotion at the door, and listen for conclusions reached with dots connected that don't necessarily connect. It's the same as Lane does.

Your void ("zero evidence") is readily remedied. Here's the sane analysis:

https://wapo.st/4c1KLQ6

The right takes a Biden-laptop victory lap around an empty arena
The issue was always whether the material was part of a foreign effort to influence the election — as had occurred four years before.

Analysis by Philip Bump
National columnist
June 12, 2024 at 11:08 a.m. EDT

(excerpts)

When The Washington Post finally got access to the material in 2022, we were able to verify some of it as authentic. There was also evidence, though, that the material on the hard drive that went from Giuliani to the New York Post was moved around with some information added. Even Mac Isaac warned that material being attributed to “the laptop” was not on the laptop when he undertook the file recovery process.

At trial, government witnesses confirmed that what they had was the original laptop and material from Hunter Biden’s iCloud account. But that was only one fork of the flow of that information to the public. The other was the copy that ended up with Giuliani, and in the press. There may have been another, earlier fork, too; Time magazine reported soon after the initial New York Post story that material attributed to Hunter Biden was being offered in Ukraine in 2019, perhaps after his Apple account had been illegally accessed.

This overlaps with the other error in Hannity’s argument. The issue at the time of the New York Post report was in part that the material might not be authentic. In part, though, it was that it was authentic — and being released in October 2020 as part of a foreign effort to influence the outcome of the presidential race.

After all, Russian actors had done precisely this four years prior. In 2016, hackers linked to Russia accessed a Democratic Party network and the email account of a senior staffer for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Much of that material was then given to WikiLeaks, which released it in bunches during July and October of that year. (The second batch of material began being released on the same day that the intelligence community raised a public alarm about Russian interference efforts.) It was a use of legitimate material obtained illegally to try to influence how Americans viewed the election.

The federal government — at the time led by President Trump — worked with social media companies in an effort to introduce guardrails against a similar effort in 2020. There were already signs that Russia was again hoping to aid Trump’s election. Then the New York Post story dropped.

The letter from the 51 former intelligence officials was an early articulation of the concern that history was repeating itself. But it was also more cautious than many (including Turley) suggest.

“We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not,” it read, “and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”

Giuliani, you may recall, had spent significant time in Europe several months prior attempting to find evidence of impropriety by Biden’s family. That included interactions with someone added to a sanction list in September 2020 as a Russian intelligence agent.

Others went further in linking the New York Post story to Russia, including Biden. But it is not as though there was no precedent for such concerns in the moment.

These two factors — that the New York Post “laptop” and the trial laptop were different and that the concern was less about authenticity than sourcing — help explain why the testimony at the trial didn’t make the splash that Hannity seems to have hoped. That and that media outlets (such as The Washington Post) had validated some of the material and that it was already understood that the government considered its laptop as legitimate.

After Hannity lamented the media’s silence on the so-called “critical development,” Turley offered a theory for why that silence had ensued.

“If the laptop is authentic, if those files are real,” he said, “then you have these detailed accounts of a multimillion-dollar influence-peddling operation run by the Biden family. Those would also be authentic. But the media just simply doesn’t want to go there.”

Except that we already know that many of those files were real, because we got access to them and verified them. The reason the media “doesn’t want to go there” on breathless claims about a “Biden family” influence-peddling operation is that the material doesn’t prove any such operation. It shows — as has by now been exhaustively explained — work done by Hunter Biden and his Uncle James that involved lots of money but did not demonstrably involve President Biden. The entire point of the House Republican impeachment effort has been to prove Joe Biden’s involvement; they have been unable to do so.

We should not necessarily assume that Sean Hannity or his guests are being sincere in their lamentations about the failures of the media. It is politically useful for the right and for Trump to suggest that the Hunter Biden trial revealed something novel and incriminating about the traditional media. It didn’t, but readers of this article probably don’t need to be convinced of that. And Hannity’s viewers probably aren’t reading this, so why not say it?

Supposedly the FBI had investigated the laptop and found it to be Hunter Biden's and the information on it not doctored or false flag information well before that letter was published.

It was an example of our supposedly apolitical intelligence apparatus deciding to take sides under the cloak of authority (the signers were documented as various intelligence officials...)

Odd how you so easily get the point and yet our highly educated lawyer just obfusticates and blathers......

Wonder who needs to get fired???? Who gets prosecuted for tampering with our election????

The laptop is proven real. It was proven real in mid 2020. The 51 who signed that letter lied to the American people. Many here including “the Mikes”, Joshua, and ME (among others) swallowed that lie hook-line-and-sinker.

flame Joshua and “the Mikes” realize they were lied to and are trying to save faith. ME still believes!

Only on the ARPF!!! 2020

Well written Doc!

"History will expose you all as idiots and useful fools for the Russians."

We don't have to wait for "history". It's been true for some time.

For ONE thing, anything that Guiliani touted or touched or produced was suspect. He had the connections, with specific purpose, one in particular, a Russian, who said he (Rudy) was very useful - useful idiot, IOW.

The 51 are heroes for calling it out with their suspicions. All those center and left-center media sources who smelled disinformation and refused to be used by people like Guiliani sustained their ethic values.

If they erred, it was for the right reasons, and less harm. Blathering out disinformation, lies, to the complicit and gullible is as wrong as sucking it up. The true believers demonstrate the harm all the time. There was no conspiracy, just sanity.

Of course you don't understand.

Think about this scenario (or story)

A president's son drops off a laptop at a computer shop for data recovery of the hard drive. The shop owner is a known far-rightist. The son forgets about the laptop. The store owned can't be sure who the person who dropped it off because, he says he's legally blind. But he can see well enough to do the data recovery and read it. The shop owner says the laptop owner gave his name. In such case I would have given a phone number too. But the shop owner says he never heard from the laptop owner again and never tried to contact him.

Then the shop owned decided the laptop and hard drive were his property to do with what he wanted. So, he gave a (copy) to Guiliani, and contacted the FBI, so he says. Apparently he held onto it long enough to make it a nice October Surprise.

That's the story up to a point, the origins. Just how rotten fishy does that smell? What's the odds of that being real as opposed to a Russian plant?

Now flip it. Say Trump's close confidant, a relative, so the story goes, drops off a laptop - same scenario, Then it gets relayed to the Right media, exclusively? (pun intended) Would Fox or Newsmax start publishing data from the laptop, without vetting and confirmation of authenticity?

IMO, they would not, but not because of ethics, but for the sake of lawsuits and embarrassment. Even Fox and Newsmax have some sense.

But, after confirmation of authenticity, they wouldn't publish it. Instead, if word got out, they would spin it selectively.

The best way to deal with JTEX is:

"Ignored post by JTEX posted 15 June 2024 06:54"

He's utterly incorrigible. Lane is merely incorrigible. The difference is slight, but at least Lane's posts are slightly more thoughtful.

So, because your interpretation of their intent, its all good?

What happens when its support is on the other side? FASCISM! you will scream.

The FBI had evaluated this laptop and found no evidence of it being modified or doctored.

They had done this before the 51 posted their letter.

If they were as "in the know" as they were stating, they could very well have known this already, or at the very least asked the FBI and not spouted false talking points that likely impacted the election.

Your point is negated by the fact that our intelligence operatives acted like they KNEW this was manufactured information, when there was actually governmentally available evidence to the contrary at the time.

They hurt the public trust in the institutions of government by going off half cocked.

You comment on hows the MAGA crowd doesn't trust the governmental institutions? Don't you think this objective fact reinforced that belief for them?

How often were the medically trained folks saying here that Fauci and his masking were not scientifically supported? (and mentioned Fauci said there was no evidence before he had a change of belief moment... that he now says was because he was mislead...)

You and your side said they were because they were coming out with this information... and now they admit they had nothing.

My point being that the governmental agencies should stay away from politics and stay away from trying to influence policy without having actual convincing evidence.

So what devastating information was on the laptop? Tax records?

Was that what the big GOPer fuss was about? Tax records? Where is the damning revelations that President Biden is corrupt?

I didn't get that point from what I read. I thought/think the timing is the other way around.

That's probably an important point.

The testimony in Hunter's trial gives the date the FBI examined the laptop and deemed it Hunter's and not tampered with.
Do not remember the date but was prior to the 51 letter
