Here's some dates - still looking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/..._Hunter_Biden_Emails On October 19, 2020 , a group of 51 former senior intelligence officials, who had served in four different administrations, including the Trump administration, released an open letter stating that the release of the alleged emails "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation". ============================================================= Two footnotes in Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...troversy#cite_note-9 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...Stanage_6/29/2023-10 according to Shapley, the FBI had determined long before that — in November 2019 — that the laptop was authentic. Article in NY Post: https://nypost.com/2023/06/22/...blower-gary-shapley/ (Note: Shapley, a whistleblower, seems to be the only source for the November 2019 claim. The article in NY Post appears clearly to be smear, with low credibility. The body of the article doesn't live up to the heading, etc.) ======================================= The timeline on it all, etc., I can see why the confusion. Two main things: the timing as an October Surprise and Guiliani's involvement are enough to raise suspicion in rational people. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/h...aptop-data-analysis/ November 21, 2022 Here's an article from 10/19/20 https://thehill.com/policy/nat...icized-intelligence/ Ratcliffe, Schiff battle over Biden emails, politicized intelligence (excerpt) Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) are publicly battling over the emails allegedly recovered from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, accusing one another of politicizing intelligence. The two are battling over a controversial report published by the New York Post last week concerning a laptop and emails allegedly sent by Biden, the son of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The story alleged that then-Vice President Biden participated in a meeting with a top adviser to Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, where his son sat on the board at the time, prompting immediate attacks from President Trump and his allies that Biden is corrupt. Schiff in a Friday (10/16/20) interview with CNN said the “smear” campaign against Biden and his ties to Ukraine originated as part of a Russian disinformation plot more than a year ago, but he did not explicitly link the Kremlin efforts to the Post story . Ratcliffe, however, sought to claim that Schiff was remarking that the Post story was a result of Russian disinformation, which he says is not supported by intelligence. It’s funny that some of the people that complained the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing intelligence and unfortunately in this case, it is Adam Schiff,” Ratcliffe told Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, adding that Schiff claimed “Hunter Biden’s laptop and e-mails on it are part of some Russian disinformation campaign.” “Let me be clear: The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that . And we shared no intelligence with Chairman Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” Ratcliffe added. (Note: "no evidence that supports that" doesn't mean there was full investigation completed. I read in another article that Ratcliffe was appropriately criticized for saying what he did on Fox News because he inserted his own opinion, not that based on the results of actual investigation. Also if the FBI had not, at that time, shared the results of their supposed investigation with members of congress, then how was Schiff to know except to look at the evidence he had?) (More excerpt from the article) The FBI reportedly seized Hunter Biden’s laptop and a hard drive last week (mid-October 2020) through a grand jury subpoena. When contacted by The Hill, the FBI declined to comment on the reported investigation, citing its media policy around confirming or denying investigations. NBC News reported last week (mid-October 2020) that the FBI is investigating whether the alleged emails are linked to a foreign intelligence operation. Additionally, The Washington Post reported last week (mid-October 2020) that intelligence officials have previously warned that Russian intelligence has made Giuliani a target of an influence campaign, in which he might be used to pass along Kremlin misinformation to Trump. Ratcliffe and Schiff’s back-and-forth comes amid warnings from intelligence officials that Russia is again seeking to interfere in the 2020 election by seeking to “denigrate” Biden. Clinton Watts, a disinformation expert and research fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, said in an interview with The Hill last week that there is a “high” likelihood that the information is part of a disinformation operation. Thomas Rid, an information security expert and professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, also told The Hill that there is a “significant likelihood” — more than 50 percent — that the laptop is part of an information operation from Russia or another foreign nation. ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. The only thing this thread proves is that TDS has very severe symptoms. Just added: The above statement doesn’t imply that anything Trump has done, is doing or will do is Devine, evil or good for America. Those are separate issues. It’s just sad to see grown men so invested in their being duped that they can’t accept the truth. And when do you Trumptards finally admit that while the laptop was indeed Hunter's and not a Russian plant, it does not hold the evidence that Joe was involved with Hunter's business dealings as you have been claiming all along? TDS my ass. More like a case of some of you drinking the orange Kool-aid and then asking for seconds

What it most likely proves is that ASS has very severe symptoms. ASS = Actually Stupid Syndrome. From all the reading, etc., that I did researching this it looks like the notion that the initial laptop verification comes from the testimony of one whistleblower. That was not FBI verification. But GOPers ran with it. And the New York Post published an article claiming verification. The article was tabloid trash but that didn't matter to GOPers, and apparently still doesn't. All the signs pointed to Russian disinformation. Most media sources used ethical caution, some criticized the NY Post article, and the 51 doc claim was issued about that time. GOPers, hungry for affirmation, claim those with reasonable doubt are lying, afflicted with TDS, or whatever. What they desperately wanted was a link to Joe but didn't get it. Yet, in their minds, proof that the laptop was indeed Hunter's is the same as proof that the whole Biden family is criminal, parroting Trump's BS and lies. In the reality of probability, given factual history of vast amount of lies, belief thereof, and the proven fact of Russian interference and disinformation, who is the least trustworthy - GOPers or those 51 and many others who recommended cautious skepticism? ASS is a real problem, perhaps THE problem at the root of what's ailing the country. Right now the whole media, and other sources of info, good or bad, floods the zone. It's difficult to sort it out. ASS certainly is an impediment to sorting it out, even if they wanted to, which is also doubtful, preferring simple affirmations, in large quantity. If you look at the campaign strategy and tactics used by RNC, GOPers, Trump Team, some policy emerges, like throwing Ukraine to Russian wolves, tariffs, gutting agencies, etc., but the real strategy is doubt sowing, jumping to conclusions with tricked pseudo-evidence, IOW mass propaganda. This whole mess is fascist fodder for those afflicted with ASS. Here's a relevant article: https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/16...non-reliable-sources This infamous Steve Bannon quote is key to understanding America’s crazy politics His quote is like a compass that orients this crazy era of American politics. “The Democrats don’t matter,” Bannon told Lewis. “The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit.” That’s the Bannon business model: Flood the zone. Stink up the joint. TDS folks assume every act by the “Orange Man” is evil and that all things promulgated by MSM is the gospel (like the edited Trump comments re: Charlottesville). First, try your best to believe the current position of the FBI that the laptop is real and a real-time chronicle of Hunter’s business dealings. Then study the contents, assuming that Hunter wasn’t making up facts to confuse a TDS victim but was simply using the laptop as you would use your own (correspondence, calendars, memoes, etc. ) Third, study the evidence discovered by the various Congressional committees that a diligent inquiry would show using sworn testimony and subpoenaed hard evidence. Finally, do your best to think beyond TDS and recognize that Joe, Jim and Hunter have yet to explain the shell companies, why they laundered $20,000,00+, what they did for the money, why they weren’t paying taxes, why banking institutions ere flagging 170+ suspicious transfers, why none of them (or their relatives who got money) ever registered as foreign agents and you can be free to hate Trump all you want and not be hogtied into a make believe fantasy world that Joe Biden isn’t a crook. BTW, Federal statutes don’t require direct payment of cash for extortion or bribery. Democrats in office are screwed. If they admitted what they know to be true, theyrd lose their gravy train. I understand their lack of integrity (after all, the MSM will make up whatever necessary to keep clothes on the emperor). I’m not aware what non-office holding TDS sufferers are afraid of losing. Maybe you think being honest about Joe is a vote for Trump? A movement at the Convention can fix that with an honest candidate. Just one question for our "Judge", why did the GOP not move to impeach if they have the evidence to prove the claim? Bueller? Bueller???

Some of us, I for one, still believe in the old saying learned in youth. It goes something simple like this: "Liars cannot be trusted". It's also means that those who believe lies cannot be trusted. It also includes psycho projection, falsely accusing others of lying. It doesn't matter if liars occasionally deal in truth, accidently or conveniently perhaps. What matters is the lies and the belief thereof or rationalizations thereof, and projection of course. The saying can also be extended to include those addicted to conspiracy theories. There are shades of lies, depending on what's behind it, support, intention, etc. Just as there are different shades of skepticism. Most liars simply bypass reasonable skepticism, jumping to suitable conclusions, or especially affirmation of what's preconceived. However, as a matter of fact, Trumpism is based on many, many lies, from many directions or sources. That foundation isn't a good place to be coming from or going to, or dwelling in. It can be counted on, trusted, for one thing - more lies, and actions (un)hinged on that. So, with all that, why do Trumpsters think TDS is a disorder? hummm ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Would it do any good to send Articles of Impeachment to Schumer? He just would bury them like he did with the lying and incompetent boob at Homeland Security. Perhaps the House is waiting to see if the new Congress will be led by someone who is not afraid of the evidence against Biden and will put his duties under the Constitution ahead of his own self interest.
