They only work in certain spots, and are breached regularly. It just slows things down here & there.

Weird - it's almost like everyone in power disagrees with you, and it's a national crisis -- like wow, the Head of the areas says you are full of stuffing

quote:
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is citing an "acute and immediate need" to waive dozens of federal laws in order to build a border wall in south Texas where illegal migration has surged, a sharp contrast to dismissals of the use of such barriers in the early days of the administration. ....
"There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996]," Mayorkas said.

Unattended walls don't work or prisons wouldn't need gun towers and roving outside security patrols.

These walls pending construction are in high-traffic areas and will be monitored and patrolled.

The Trump Wall to encompass the entire Southern border would require half the U.S. Army in addition to Border Patrol to meaningfully monitor.

IF he had ever built any significant part. Which he didn't.

And Mexico didn't pay for what he did build.

They will still get through, or some will. We have a 25 mile wide freezing cold moat, and they still get through.

When you make it impossible to get education, healthcare, a bank account, a driving licence etc then you might stop them.

And making the process of getting official papers to do seasonal work or other employment then access to education, bank account etc easier and quicker that would also help.

Much simpler to just turn off the jobs by jailing those who hire undocumented workers and reclaiming investor money made on their backs. Once the jobs dry up the ones who are here will leave, no more will come and we can formulate whatever immigration/work policy we see fit.

I'll bet 100 CEOs going to prison would made a noticeable difference; 500 would really move things along.

And it only took 2 1/2 years and an escalating crisis to figure it out. When the Dem mayors of the 3 largest cities started pleading with Washington to do something, amazingly enough, things start to happen. Slo jo didn’t give a shit when it was the mayors of TX border towns asking for help. Actually he tried to get Republicans to reallocate the funds to more effective use but that doesn't lend itself to childish nicknames.

What more effective use?? More sanctuary cities? Reap what you sow. Kameltoe was named the border czar over 2 years ago. What exactly has she done? What has anyone in this administration done? Surely you can name at least one thing, since they have been so proactive. Over 2 million illegals have crossed the border in the last year alone..

The answers you seek were probably in the supplemental appropriation for border security the Administration requested and Republicans rejected, including more Judges so asylum claims can be processed quicker.

Show us where the Constitution forbids it.

I've read that particular document literally hundreds of times and I'm almost certain the words "college loans" don't appear, but I'm always willing to learn.

Really, your reading comprehension is so advanced that, as an example, this passage specifies what is allowed, not prohibited?

quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

That second clause causes the issue- they are prohibiting prayers.

I can see where a teacher saying pray with me might be seen as an issue, but a teacher saying it’s time for anyone who wishes to pray to do so, or just prays herself without telling the students to do so seems to fit the simple English wording.

Note that the actual constitution mentions no wall between the state and religion.

Under Federal Law anyone may claim asylum in the United States under a variety of permitted grounds, which must be adjudicated by an immigration judge, of which we have far too few and Republicans like it that way because it preserves their pet issue to piss and moan about.

The worst thing that could happen to Republicans would be for someone to wave a magic wand and solve every aspect of the immigration issue at once.

No, they must apply for asylum before they get caught entering the country illegally. Otherwise, we just open the border, let anyone in who wants to come, and then spend the next 10 years adjudicating each case. You know, kind of like what’s happening now. It’s obvious you, slo jo, and Kameltoe the border czar prefer open borders- UNLIKE EVERY OTHER NATION ON EARTH!

Of course it’s a holdover, since slo jo promised not to build any wall. Oops, I guess that’s changed when Dem mayors representing 25 million voters begged for help. animal dancing

Well.....seeing as how the democrats are a completely lawless bunch.....this kinda stuff just doesn't matter....

We don't make them apply for asylum before they enter the country illegally because the rules were made that way by Congress. Congress needs to amend the rules. And Congress needs to provide funding for enforcement of the law.

I think we need a rule change that requires immediate deportation of those who entered illegally. If they want to apply for asylum, let them do it from home or a third country (like Mexico). Yes, we'll have to deport several million people. It will be a long job to see through, so we better get started.

Biden is responsible for executing our immigration laws and securing our borders, and he's failing miserably at the job. He's as good as advertised that the border is open to one and all. Disgusting,
