I wonder what the repercussions would be if we dropped some cruise missles and or bunker buster bombs on the various cartel headquarters.

There would be no drug users if the drugs were never imported.. Saeed, we were both in Houston in the 80s... the world is a different place

Most people out grew them. This place was Babylon in the 80s

I grew up in the 60's, out of the Army in '71. Never used drugs, yet I'm pretty sure they were commonplace, and there were plenty of advocates. My kids, children of the 80's, never used drugs either. Again, I'm pretty sure they were available. Bill.

I grew up in the 50s-60s. Drugs were everywhere. Most of us didn't need nor want to partake. It's always been here, always will be. Demand drives supply, Jeffy, & you should know that.

Jeff Cooper had a great idea. Everytime the authorities confiscated drugs they should poison them and put them back on the street.

Yeah. Let's ignore "altered state seeking" as a human trait... throughout history. Oh, and while we are talking about poisons and intoxicating substances, have you cut out caffeine tea, coffee, coke, tobacco, ultraprocessed foods (that means fast foods), sugars, fruits, meditation and sleep?

Sure, its close enough to a supply/demand problem for symple... and forget that an SD curve only results in two knowns... units sold at a price.. and ignore elastice/ineleastic pricing

Sure, close enough, keep sipping your sweetened coffee or tea and eating literal garbage... yep, you aren't addicted.

Like telling an obese person to just eat less and exercise, or a depressive to just not be sad, removing the substances of choice for addicts will solve everything

We made it a commodity.

The whole 80s Cocaine War seems a waste. A better balanced and legalized approach w rules seemed better. Then punish the rule breakers or those who cause harm from over use.

I tell officers all the time, “ When is the last time someone was convicted for mere use inside their home.”

Judging by what I see these last few years, a lot of folks manage to be batshit crazy without the help of any chemistry.
