All this high stakes, stupid, self harming talk about Canadian tariffs and Canada being the 51st (which would mean a R would never win a national election again), I have the real solution.

The U.S.A secedes Oregon, Washington, and California to Canada.

Canada remains a sovereign and independent nation.

The U.S. and Canada enter into agreement grant days free movement (similar to EU national travel to EU countries) between US and Canada nationals.

No tariffs.

Canada agrees to x percentage of imports from U.S. if imports drop a tariff sliding scale is triggered correlating to the lack of imports.

This was a joke.

can we add NY to the pot?

and all no charge -- and though the population would quadruple(? - not going to bother to look it up) STILL 90+% of all Canadians would live close to the US border

caveat - US retains 1/2 oil rights off the left coast

Outside the very large and populous cities, all state residents are primarily conservative. Just look at a map at how the counties countrywide voted.

It's not state lines, it's the urban contingent. I cannot understand their mindset and doubt I ever will.

sure -- as a child, "Stealing" my uncle's 10m sail boat (technically he was my 2nd cousin, but out of respect, i called him uncle) going to canada to get bait and soda was normal (i used to spend summers in Michigan, for those following along and want to nitpick) .. literally no one cared (until my mom asked where i was and CJ said "he took my boat") about free transit --

then, as a teen with a decent f100 (6 in a row, ready to tow, with 3 on the tree), going to mexico was equally as care free (pre-cartels, of course)

I miss the days when the only barrier was either remembering to speak spanish, or be very polite with english

done -- deal.. and I won't even ask that Alberta be called "North Texas" -- we all know it's true, anyway

that way, the only thing between Dallas and the north pole would be a couple hills in OK

okay, that's not fair .. there's at least 20 tree in Kansas

Giving up something like 18% of our annual GDP to Canada. Solid plan!

That is why we get EU style free movement and we agree to a level of trade for both.

We are also giving uo the largest consumers of our federal budget at the state level.

Also, it is a joke. Unless Canada going to do it?

I think it's a bit more than 18% --- and yes -- if they want to go, bye -- cya ---

and it still leaves the US as the largest economy on the planet --

oh, wait, you think the business and populations will stay? bhahahahahahah they want to be US citizens, with the protections and benefits therein -- they just want "gimmie" too

but you are welcome to 70% of the "unhoused" and more than HALF the illegals --

it's a stinky deal for Canada -- "sorry"

No, BC remains Canada. It is theirs to do with as they see fit.

That is why I offered Alberta. Alberta also has the farming.

Alberta is more important than BC.

Yep and adding Montreal and Toronto (NY City North) would really help the R cause.

The population of Canada is in the East. We see how they vote and how their neighbors to the south vote here.
Go ahead, make Canada the 51st state. Cows, trees, and grass do not vote.

This fight w Canada is childish, stupid, and is set to harm every day Americans.

Sure! And we get open season on MAGAts.

No draws, no tag fees, and no bag limits - what’s not to love?

Lock and load, asshole. We’ll treat you exactly the same way you’d treat an invader to your country, for as many years as it takes to drive you out. No American would ever be safe on Canadian soil.

You can destroy, you specialize in that, but you suck at holding. You couldn’t hold Vietnam, El Salvador, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Syria, and you sure as hell won’t hold Canada.

And you're any better? I recall Heym being pretty accurate in his assessments of pending court cases.

Jeffive predicted Harris would win the election. He was wrong there. I also thought Harris would win, although I wasn't confident enough to make a prediction.

I just could not believe that a plurality of American voters could sink so low as to elect a detestable narcissist like Trump. It's not like his character was a secret. Jeffive may have thought the same.

Are you any better at predicting? If not, drop the snide comments.

I was wrong. I got the last 3 election cycles right, right down to the individual states. But I was wrong.

I would be right about this. Add 3 major population cities in one state and watch the cows and tress lose.
