There has been numerous discussions herein delving into the premise of the OP title. I generally participate in that because I am very interested in it - the understanding. We are all familiar with the policy (for whatever it's worth) economics, lesser of evils and other superficial stuff. I really want to go deeper into the psychology of the Trump phenomenon. You’re just wasting band width. You can’t redeem a mind that’s irretrievably lost. There are people in Europe today who still idolize Hitler. Hard to tell I’ve been prepping for guests. Made a delicious spinach salad Shrimp and steaks are ready for the barbie. Side dishes are prepped. Water and sodas for everyone along with adult beverages for anyone who wants them. I even made sure I took any allergies and dietary restriction to account. And they go deep into the issues, sorta from the outside looking in. Help me out here. If the checks and balances work, how will Harris strip away out freedoms? I actually believe in the system. I believe that the Checks and Balances work. But I think the system works as long as "We the People" go along with it. We let it work. It's not the "Rulers" we have to worry about so much as their followers. Ilan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlab of Whogivesafuck don't bother me so much as their constituents that elected them. M.E. frequently mentions the 25k "shock troops" of the conservatives. Well we know for a fact there's thousands of more of Islamic Radicals sending their representatives to Congress don't we!  So for lack of a better label, will the MAGA hats allow the system to work? Will the Checks and Balances be allowed by the MAGA hats? January 6th was a probe, Trump has said he'd pardon those convicted as well as he's called for the suspension of the Constitution and claimed a stolen election where it obviously wasn't. Right! Trump has also supported the idea of military tribunals for his political opponents. So what happens come November? Who will attempt to strip away our rights? | |||

On what legal ground or basis will the SC rely to overturn the Trump conviction, do you reckon? I can't think of one that's likely myself. Most of the Mo Wy is gone. Boomers are retiring at a record rate. Get X (Of which O am one of the oldest) are getting ready to retire and we outnumber the younger generations. I don’t see either side cutting it. None on either side wants to commit political suicide. Here is what I see happening. And this is just a guess. One day it becomes very apparent that the checks will just stop coming in a few weeks. There will be no more can kicking the issue down the road as both sides have done for decades. Both sides will engage in blaming the other and blaming the other in an endless forever war on this.
