Apparently, he had made pro ISIS videos. Without red flag laws and w free speech what is anyone to do until he engages in an overt action to bring violence. Our laws are largely designed (epos/dvos being somewhat an exception they still require a civil finding of violence or threats of occurring) to punish the bad that happens, and not to prevent it. The man had exited the military when he made these videos, I am not sure what avenue to legally intercept, arrest and charge him would have been available. | |||

I am going to take a pass on US military intervention being the net cause of this man’s motivation. I would not make watching ISIS videos or reading about ISIS illegal anymore then I would the Turner Diaries (which I read as a class in college). Seems that failed relationships are a stressor (duh.) One of the issues about modern journalism. No follow up. Still crickets about that Vegas hotel shooter on the strip.
