IDK what people say about Baldwin. Hollywood is fantasy land, few actors know anything about pretend deadly weapons. Unless Baldwin brought the live ammo to the set they shouldn't have even looked at him. Hang the SOB who was stupid enough to bring live ammo to a pretend movie set & move on.

Baldwin wasn't using a "pretend deadly weapon"--he used a REAL deadly weapon. He could have used a pretend deadly weapon, a replica, but didn't.

If actors are going to play on camera with real guns, they must learn the rules of gun safety.

When I learned those rules, they didn't say anything about an exception for movie stars.

Plus, Baldwin "knows" enough about guns to be convinced that they are deadly and he has advocated that no one should have them...

So the thing speaks for itself... if he is convinced they are deadly and dangerous, he should treat them as such, rather than "practicing" off camera while pointing it at someone.

Did Baldwin know it was a real gun? And, I get it...if he didn't, he should have. But, did he objectively know?

Baldwins actions will be an issue for this trail. He cannot hide behind industry standards when, if, he is violating them himself when the fatal shot is fired.

He did have the last chance to prevent the AD.
There were two others whose job was to prevent an AD.
Inexplicitly, a loaded firearm was on set, and precautions failed.

I seriously dislike Baldwin's politics and as much as I would like to say he should be convicted for his perverse political views, I can't. I don't buy in to the Democrats view of lawfare. If I were on the jury, I'd acquit.

Each and every one of us would have checked the loads of the revolver before we handled it. It's instinct. It's ingrained in us from childhood. And if any of us didn't, it would be easy to say we were at least guilty of negligent homicide.

But he's a moron actor with no knowledge about firearms and that role was delegated to the armorer. The prosecutors lost a big issue when the judge said they couldn't consider his conduct as a producer as opposed to an actor because in my humble opinion, the producer should be responsible for safety training, including teaching the actors how to safely handle firearms. He failed on that count, for sure, but if that's not part of the equation, it's all back to he's a dumb liberal actor who didn't know any better.

Hard to say because this was so preventable and he still was a moron.

I would vote to convict on anything less than murder. Baldwin was careless and deliberately so. He should be banned from ever touching a firearm, real or replica, ever again, after he gets out of prison. Bill

This sums it up. He needs to pay the penalty, as does anyone else on the set who stuffed up.

Let’s put it another way… if someone takes a gun out there and while not thinking it’s loaded shoots someone, what happens?

Why should Hollywood be held any differently?

If an actor and the production crew is to be held to that standard, then maybe the movie industry will take safety precautions more seriously than some sort of vague suggestion.

For some reason the acting profession seems to have more dumb accidents than they ever used to.

What’s his name the guy who blew his own brains out with a blank gun.

Now this horrible negligent accident.

Back when actors hunted and were service members you didn’t see this level of negligent shootings in Hollywood.

Now the defense latest maneuver is to deflect blame on the police CSI for their exam of the crime scene and the movie crew for not having more security cameras on site. Fucking lawyers. Throw shit on the wall and see what sticks. What a way to make a living… 2020

The other lawyers should just point out that Baldwin was in charge of the production. It’s his fault there are no cameras to show his “innocence”… since when is your own stupidity a criminal defense?

The one thing that Mr. Baldwin has been an expert at is making sure everyone sees what an entitled snob he is.

In my many years of law enforcement I saw a lot of people do time for killing someone that they didn't mean to. Drunk drivers are #1 for that. I see no difference here other than Baldwin's shitty attitude.

I doubt it was misconduct, probably just ineptitude. Prosecutors are required to turn over every single piece of evidence gathered in the criminal investigation to defense counsel whether they are going to use it at trial or not. Some of it may be viewed as exculpatory by the defense lawyers and they are entitled to see it all.

Somebody at the DA's office in this case is getting fired.

Correct, Saeed. People are accusing him of violating principles of firearm safety while completely ignoring the fact that it was a movie set where people do things that are not practically allowed outside. It was supposed to have been loaded with blanks. It was not his job to ensure that it was not loaded with live ammunition. There were people specifically hired to do that job and ensure that the acting is done safely. When the gun was handed to him, "cold weapon" was announced loudly for everyone on the set to hear. There was no reason for Baldwin to assume that the gun was loaded with live ammunition. He should never have been charged and the case against him was dismissed and rightly so. Now even the case against the armourer is also going to come under examination due to the new evidence that was buried by the prosecution.

Did Baldwin make a straw purchase? Was Baldwin underage when taking possession of the firearm? Did Baldwin self appoint himself as a peace keeper during a riot?

Are you even able to think outside of "lefty" "libtard" etc. ways of classifying people and just look at the facts? (not the alternative facts, just the facts).

Maybe lane can explain how it is fine to purchase a firearm through a straw purchase, self appoint yourself as a peace keeper when you are not legally old enough to posses a firearm, and then kill a man.

That little shit stain Rittenhouse should be in jail long before Baldwin.
