I don't know why that tradition prevails. I guess we Canucks just like it. I don't think about it much any more. At the core, in some ways, we are a very different nation than the USA. That is not a value judgment, just an observation. As you know the British Monarchy goes back to colonialism. You are admired by most for The War of Independence. Trivia; Gallups fought in that war. Some Gallups were "United Empire Loyalist" and moved north to Nova Scotia, Canada. Those folks are my ancestors. Interesting history, the USA and Canada.
