Trump apologists claim he had a legitimate belief that the election was improper and that he would be re-instated as soon as the right court case was presented. He fund-raised millions on this very claim. He refused to attend Biden's Inauguration, a stunning breach of tradition.

Today, while Junior was sniffing through his testimony in the fraud trial in New York an interesting document was introduced into evidence.

Now Trump famously relinquished control of the "Donald Trump Revocable Trust" controlling all his business interests before he was inaugurated.

In court today they introduced a document Trump signed on Jan 15, 2021 restoring his control of that Trust effective the day of Biden's inauguration.

The way Trump spells "stolen" on his Truth Social site. He's done it dozens or hundreds of times.

That's what I figured. One friend told me, "It's just an act; he's not that stupid". I think he really is that stupid. Nonetheless, his administration made business more confident, and that was a good thing. Regards, Bill

. . . Trump has to communicate in a language that his supporters understand. They all believe the election was stollen too.

this is "stollen" a lovely german spiced bread with various fruits - when its not entirely covered in a glaze/powered sugar, it's only mildly sweet, and GREAT with strong coffee or tea

but if you are crying about this

giving up control of his enterprises for the duration was the hew and cry of the left, while sobbing from his election, so he complied -

for the duration --
Do you think that's somehow controversial news?

Why does it matter if he thought it was stollen? That doesn't mean that it was ok for him to try to steal it back by concocting the plan that he did or inciting violence in the manner that he did. He took it to the courts and they disagreed with him. Should have been end of story.

Any possibility that Trump thinks it was stollen because he thought he'd already stollen it and the scheme just didn't work?

I suspect it was more a matter of surrounding himself with toadies and yes-men, who had all assured him he would win, then when he didn't they brought in the worst lawyers in Christendom who told him it could be won in the Courts, then the QAnon nuts told him the Republicans in the House could seize power for him with a few tricks with fake electors and a riot.
