Interesting PBS program tonight discussing the Yurok tribe's tradition of burning underbrush before it gets big enough to threaten the trees when it burns.

Most pilots won't fly in a hurricane, just a few specialists in P3 Orions with a reason to do it.
Combine a fire with hurricane-strength wind and that's just not going out until it's damn good and ready.

I have trouble envisioning Newsom as a president.
He might turn the California vote purple.

Our building codes require design for 90 mile-per-hour winds.
