Therefore, what is the strategic goal that is accomplished by killing this man in Iran only to be replaced next week?

How did killing this man in Iran make Israel more secure? It appears to have made Israel less secure.

I do not support the U.S. giving Israel a blank check to carry operations out in Iran. I also understand that Iran did that to us in Iraq. That being carrying out direct military action. How do you think the militias got the bombs and know how to build those IEDs.

Killing Bob Laden probably had little strategic significance at the point. However, the repercussions were of less consequence.

General Jack Keene said it was highly effective in sending three messages and he endorsed the action:
1) Mossad can get you anywhere
2) Israel is in this to finish it at all cost
3) Iran respects this kind of strength and is showing signs already of back off…time will tell here.

The IDF is elite.

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

What was achieved by hunting down and killing Hussein, Bin Laden, Soleimani?

Killing Saddam created a power vacuum!

Everyone was saying it before it happened.

But, Cheney and his lab dog, Bush 2, went ahead and invaded Iraq again.

Paving the way for ISIS.

I have absolutely no doubt it was done on purpose!

Your military industry won’t make much money in peace time!

Bush the Elder specifically refused to take Baghdad and eliminate Hussein after we kicked their asses out of Kuwait specifically because any successor would almost certainly be as odious, or worse.

Bush the Lesser, always a dimwit, let Cheney's cabal of chickenhawks convince him that we could simply impose a friendly, compliant democracy in his place, with excellent markets on excellent terms for American companies for a couple of decades. Not exactly what happened but what conservative theories predict rarely works anyway.
