BTW, I agree with a few other points in your post. The MAGA crowd are responsible for the poor performance of GOP. But you need to realise that this ugly underbelly of Conservatism is the cornerstone and foundation of the party. Yes 40% of the party is MAGA.

Yes, return to the basic principles of commonsense Conservatism would be great. But you fail to appreciate that the dominance of the super rich 0.1% pulling the puppet strings will always move the GOP to authoritarian oligarchy.
