100%^^^ It would be the most progressive liberal administration the US has ever seen. It amazes me that the idea of supporting her is even floated on a hunting/shooting forum. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Many are simply disgusted by the GOP nominee Lane. The lying, cheating, fraud, attempted theft of an election, the philandering, etc. are simply not appealing to those of us with a functioning moral compass. It amazing me that people who consider themselves Christians support such an amoral man.

Have at it Steve. Cast a vote for the most liberal administration the US has ever seen. Had the GOP nominated someone worthy of a vote the country would not be facing the choice it is today. Nominating Trump after his behavior last cycle is all on the GOP. There were MANY better options, but here we are.

A) Trump has violated this “Commandment” multiple times. B) I see nothing in the “ Commandment”that requires blind loyalty to someone who engaged in Trump’s post election behavior, dereliction on Jan 6, and schemes to maintain power. I believe President Regan would agree. President Regan stopped mob stupidity over a park. I have no doubt he would have stopped Jan 6 mob. At least, President Regan would have conceded the Office with dignity that would have went a long way at preventing violence. President Regan would not have schemed to stay in power. C) I disagree w the whole notion of elevating such crass political view to that of the Old Testament law if Moses. D) The “Commandment” does not absolve you of your responsibility to use the power of the vote to keep a man who schemed to prevent his surly elected opponent from the White House. A man who permitted violence upon our Constitution to help further his plan to keep power that was not his to keep. A man who had the power to stop that violence. Neither Party is enshrined in our Common to self political power. I would rather live in a world where Dems could beat GOPers at the polls, than a world where a minority uses violence to impose a result. I would rather live in a world where a Dem wins than a world where a man who calls for the suspension of the Constitution welds political power. I would rather live in a world of bad policy instead of either a) illegitimate means taking power or b) a perfect world by my design. I would rather live in a world the limits legislative action against its people when the only controlling principle for legislation is, @ I think those people are gross bc my pastor said so, and you have to pray like I do.”

We recently had an election in the UK. The conservatives had been in power for around 14 years during which time we had MPs and PMs who lied to the public and parliament, thought the rules only applied to others and that they were exempt, MPS who misled their constituents, government contracts going to friends and family, the list is endless. Whilst I would much prefer a Tory government if they behave like that and get reelected anyway what message does it send. Instead they were wiped out, it was a bloodbath. If you simply reelect those who are corupt, dishonest and lack integrity just because you like the alternative less you are part of the problem by enabling those who do it. The GOP had the opportunity to pick someone who doesn’t exhibit these traits ( mostly) and instead picked Trump. It’s just enabling his continued behaviour … they only have themselves to blame if the country picks Kamala.

Speaking of morons . . . when folks play silly games they win stupid prizes. The GOP allowing itself to be infected with the metastasizing cancer of Trump and doing nothing to bring it into remission, that's moronic. Like I said above, IF the Dems win in November it will be a direct result of all the imbeciles that have allowed and encouraged the spread of Trumpanoma. The same folks that gave us Biden. Mike

I agree Doc. But I think it's reasonable to call yourself conservative and support Harris/Walz for the same reasons you don't support Trump. There's no shame in being a conservative who has moral fortitude and votes accordingly. BTW, in this situation voting 3rd party is abnegation, worthless, except to salve your conscience. BTW: A Pillar Virtue "Moral fortitude is a virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in the pursuit of the good1. It allows us to overcome fear and remain steady in our will in the face of obstacles2. There are different types of fortitude, including mental and moral fortitude3. The mistake, dear Lane, is that you FEEL that way. You mistakenly interpret my meanings. I'm not saying that Harris/Walz fit the reasonable definition of conservative, and most certainly not radical conservative. But the difference in reasonable and radical is how much radicalized so-deemed conservatives disregard or diminish how much the diverse American worldviews have in common and reduce it down to social and cultural war. I'm saying that conservatives with moral fortitude can recognize what's really at stake, and do something that has as much direct effect in getting rid of, or at least quelling, Trump(ism) as one vote can have. The existential threat is not the different worldviews, but the extremism that claims zero-sum war. ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Yet there are many radicalized republicans. This kind of sums up my feelings. Do not get me wrong I do not like Harris, however, I in my own conscience cannot vote for a man that has done what Trump has done. To state it another way, would I invite Trump into my house or camp to share a cup of coffee or a meal? Absolutely not! He is not the kind of person I would associate in any way so if I would not even share a cup of coffee with the man, how in the hell could I vote for him to be the POTUS. Even though I do not like Harris at least she has not offended me the way Trump has. Too me it all comes down to my moral compass, and my compass has swung away from Trump in a big way.

When I was younger, I drank coffee MANY times with men like President Trump — usually because I was working for them in the oil field. I learned alot from them and they contributed to my getting out of the oilfield, getting educated, and learning to multiply wealth. Everyone has good qualities and everyone has bad ones. But you know? If you are smart and open-minded, you can learn from all. While I wouldn’t invite him to camp…yeah…I would have a cup of coffee with him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane, Like you I was raised on a ranch only in Montana not Texas and I learned early on that a person man or women is judged by their action and deeds not by what other people say or think they are. I have heard everything under the sun about Trump good and bad and take all that with a grain of salt. I have watched what he did as the president and afterword and those deeds leave me very disillusioned with him. I did vote for him the last two times, the first time willingly and the second time because I did not like Biden. This time I just cannot. I am an independent voter but looking back at my voting choices I have voted Rep about 80% of the time so I would guess that would make me more conservative than liberal although there are some things that I fully agree with on the Dem side of the isle. Like I have said in other posts if the Reps had run just about anyone else besides Trump I would have voted for them but I just cannot bring myself to vote for him again. I respect your loyalty to the Reps but that is not me I do not vote by party I vote for the person. I think being 100% loyal to one party is not good if the candidate is not a person you want in the office. I think both party's are way to strong and need to be reeled back a little bit.

Completely rational and reasonable. A thinking man's response (although I struggle to see how you justified voting for Trump the second time ). Your reasoning is responsible. The "reasoning" that I just vote for whatever or whoever has an (R) behind their name regardless of who they are or what they have done, is the logic of a simpleton. Mike
