I have no idea what the situation in Iran is with regard to their nuclear capabilities. However, it is not hard to imagine a scenario where the US intervenes with airstrikes. The airstrikes fail to materially impact Iran nuclear program. Iran makes a token response, warning everyone in advance, to save face and avoid reprisals. They make statements suggesting the program has been materially impacted, again to avoid further strikes. They then agree to a ceasefire to prevent more strikes and the possibility of real damage to the program trying to preserve the program. I think the truth will come out once the intelligence agencies have time to really do their work, including Mossad.

As one of the few on here that has seen what bombs do to structures.... I wondered how in hell they could make the claims they have... anyone.
Until debree is cleared and what is left has been put under stress tests, how can either side make claims?

They may very well not have penetrated as deeply as they hoped. But, it does not mean it is structurally sound to rebuild off what is left. It will take time to find that out. I agree with Jines, Israel will have spies there when the last rubble is cleared away to find out. Pure speculation until then.

I also doubt that the intel agencies put anything out that would disclose means and abilities to others.

They are showing pics with damage, but certainly not obliteration.

How much is intact, and how quickly it can resume use requires a lot more information than a satellite photo.

Trump is always bombastic and bragging. I expect him to say how devastated the target was regardless of what the military says with all kinds of qualifications. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that the military report says damage estimate is between complete destruction and moderate damage with best estimate they can resume work in 4-6 months and Trump would claim complete success.

The real point is here that Iran got hit and knows that we (under this president) are willing to drop bombs to prevent the imminent manufacture of nuclear weapons by them if we know of it.

I’m sure the Mullahs are really interested in getting a nuclear bomb for multiple reasons. The air strike actually reinforces some of them.

I also think that they will not attempt to rebuild until they figure out a way to either hide it better or keep us from putting a big hole in it.

I read that those bunker busters are good to 50-60 meters deep, & that the site was 500 meters underground. So I guess it's how well it was reinforced. And the stuff was probably already dispersed anyway. We'll see what intelligence comes up with, which leaves out trump.
