That Jan 6th never needed to happen if Trump and Rupert had just been honest and accepted the actually results of a free and fair election.

Also that it is sad that you are trying to justify the behavior of the rioters.

Did you know that the police escorted this fellow right in?

Personally, I don’t really care if Pelosi herself escorted the clown there… he was responsible for his own behavior and it was provably poor.

I’d agree that this shows some of the 1/6 committee’s claims were hyperbolic, but still, the underlying riotous behavior and the folks with documented insurgent statements still have no point or validity.

Goes to show that the Capitol police really had no clue how to handle the situation- poor leadership.

Whatever it means it isn't what Carlson says it means.

At the time he entered, obviously it wasn't a breakin. Did he have the right to be there regardless of the costume?

Many of the cops were just standing around, so apparently the entry was before the riot escalated.

Let's change the word "escorted" to accompanied.

"Escorted" seems to imply the cops were complicit or enablers. Accompanied implies they were suspicious and wanted to make sure he got to the place he belonged without mischief along the way.

Let's talk about McCarthy giving exclusive access to Carlson.

What was the purpose of that knowing that Carlson would clip/edit and lie about the significance? It's a treasure trove for Carlson's lies.

He was escorted by the Capitol police at one point.

If you have freedom, the cops don’t stop you until you actually do something wrong.

I agree that this shows that the 1/6 committee’s report is hyperbolic, but it doesn’t disprove that some of the folks behaved badly and deserve to be in prison.

Are you implying that the Capitol police actually made this clown do what he did? That’s the only way I see this video as being mitigation for the bad behavior of the folks convicted.

Did the committee play it up for democrat political gain and make it seem like a reason to condemn all republicans? Yes.

Surprised? That’s what politicians do.

That is a very strange video. It shows a different picture of the resurrection. A couple things should be explored and exposed:

1. What were these cops doing allowing this freak to gain access?

2. Is this actual footage. Tucker is a son of a bitch that would sabatoge the United States for a buck.

I especially found troubling the video that supposedly show Selznick in a helmet walking around inside the Capitol essentially directing traffic after his assault. There is no way in hell you can’t tell who that person is. On the flip side, you can tell who the cop was who was struck from behind with a fire extinguisher. coffee

Lots of questions to be answered.

Cops did not look overwhelmed by the 'shaman'. Shaman got four years for walking inside the building? Did he vandalize anything? I don't recall seeing him destroying anything. Did he?

One protester was shot dead that I know of by a police officer. So the cops certainly had options. Video shows the one shaman being escorted around by several police officers. He was clearly outnumbered. WTF?

The lies spewed by the media and left about Officer Sicknick are just as bad as anything done by the idiots who vandalized the building.

I still wonder about Ray Epps. He looks like an organizer and leader of a lot of the vandals yet he has not been arrested.

Lots of hysteria, not a lot of facts but the newly released video sure is telling. My assumption the J6 committee has seen all of this and yet I wonder why this was hidden from everyone else? They now look as bad as the vandals for encouraging a false narrative. Pretty sad.

Bullshit. Treasonous pieces of shit took over the Capital in an effort to overturn a general election. If those cops participated, they should be charged too. And, here you are, trying to justify and/or explain it still. What nonsense.

The bigger problem with the video is the claim by many of the defendants' attorneys is that it wasn't available to them prior to trial.

Whether the video is exculpatory evidence which was withheld from defense is the most important aspect of the release of the video.

It's not exculpatory. That shaman asshole was convicted of obstructing an official proceeding. Whether the cops participated or not is irrelevant to that charge.

And, not surprisingly, it looks like there may be another side to the story.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/07...6-footage/index.html

"US Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger on Tuesday ripped into Fox News host Tucker Carlson over his commentary about footage from the January 6, 2021, insurrection that he aired Monday night, saying the host “cherry-picked” from the footage to present “offensive” and “misleading” conclusions about the attack.

“Last night an opinion program aired commentary that was filled with offensive and misleading conclusions about the January 6 attack,” Manger wrote in an internal department memo obtained by CNN, adding that Carlson’s show didn’t reach out to the police department “to provide accurate context.”

“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video. The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments,” Manger said.

Not really.

There's been well documented charges filed, trial by juries held, convictions and sentences handed down. Americans have been found guilty of Seditious Conspiracy. They should have been shot.

There is a good and a bad, a black and a white a right and a wrong.

Those that do not see that in all the events of January 6th simply refuse to see and agree they were wrong. There is no shade of gray or nuance, all those that broke the peace on January 6th were wrong, some criminally, some feloniously, and one fatally.

That the capitol police didn't do a whole lot more shooting and killed dozens more was a mistake and only adds to the missguided beliefs in the cause, the feelings and activities, the intent and the punishment of the rioters.

WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and other Senate Republicans on Tuesday lashed out at conservative Fox News host Tucker Carlson after he characterized the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol as "mostly peaceful chaos."

At a GOP leadership press conference, McConnell said he wanted to associate himself with the letter sent to the U.S. Capitol Police force by Chief Thomas Manger, who denounced Carlson for spreading “offensive and misleading conclusions” about the Jan. 6 insurrection, including a “disturbing accusation” that Officer Brian Sicknick’s death had nothing to do with the riot.

"I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief and the Capitol Police about what happened on January 6," McConnell said as he held up a copy of the letter. "It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.”

This event was NO insurrection. Anyone that uses that term is an idiot…plain and simple.

It was a riot. And some people broke the law. They damn sure should be punished if they did.

But tell me…what did this idiot with the horns actually do? He didn’t trespass…he was led in by the police.

This whole event was a shit show and a stain on our country…but it is a whole helluva lot different than the media and the J6 Committee make it out.

My trust for our government weakens a bit more.
