Good news. Frank Luntz has always said, whichever candidate steps aside, that’s the party that wins. When your current choice is between a turd burger and a shit sandwich, almost anything else seems more edible.

While I do not think he will be the nominee report is he is still defiant.

Of he is pushed asides, it has to be Harris.

Anyone else will be starting a campaign from ground zero in July-August.

There has to be more than a couple sane minds somewhere in the DNC that knows Harris is un electable.

Admittedly my expectations of both parties are at rock bottom. I see nothing on either side that leads me to hope pooping in their pants and sitting in it isn't the norm.

No one is electable wo a campaign. One does not have a campaign wo money. Trump has been raising money for over 2 years. The election is 4 months away.

There is no one else who would not be starting from ground zero. She would just step in to the top of the ticket with a campaign and funding in place.

I know a few governors launched some PACs/etc anticipating the step down of President Biden, but those have been kind of half hearted as President Biden’s insistence on running kept them from getting heavy donations.

If President Biden exists now. She is all there is folks. The only horse that is “ready” to step in the gate to run.

The only way President Biden steps aside is if he is told that at the Convention he will not be nominated as the Party’s setting president.

That has never happened in the modern presidency. Think President Taft and President Roosevelt. The GOP could have nominated and closed ranks around President Rosevelt and won. They kept Taft as the setting GOP president.

President Biden will not leave as long as he thinks the party will ultimately not buck him at the DNC. By him, I am referring to his inner most circle of handlers including his wife.

President Johnson did not go to the Convention to be denied nomination. I believe President Johnson would have won the nomination if he hard. That is just my speculation.

President Biden and his people will not leave this election/nomination process bc it is the right thing to do. If that were the case he would have announced 2 years ago that he would not seek relection. President Biden admitted he was to be a one term, transitional president. Now, he wants to stay.

President Biden will exit only when it is demonstrated that he will be denied the nomination by the Party. That make take a failed nomination ballot as the Biden’s are dense, or the bluff might work. Dare then not to nominate a setting president.

Everyone the heat to step or be pushed aside gets turned up, President Biden gets a lot of editorial support in media. Someone wants him to stay.

https://gsas.harvard.edu/news/...den-should-stay-race

Another one from yesterday. These things are not write for no reason. See below copied and pasted.

“Can we all just remember for a minute that these same people who are trying to push Joe Biden out are the same people who literally gave us all Donald Trump? In 2015, Obama, Pelosi, Schumer pushed Biden aside in favor of Hillary; they were wrong then, and they are wrong now,” the source told NBC News.

The source pointed to polling in the 2016 election that found Hillary Clinton leading by as much as 9 points.

“How did all this work out for everyone in 2016? Perhaps we should learn a few lessons from 2016; one of them is polls are BS — just ask Secretary Clinton. And two, maybe, just maybe, Joe Biden is more in touch with actual Americans than Obama-Pelosi-Schumer?” the source added in unusually blunt language that represents the views of those closest to Biden.“

In a nutshell….

Trump wins.

Everybody else loses, except for Vladimir Putin, President Xi and a handful of global Inner Circle acolytes.

We are at the brink of one of histories most interesting tidal shifts, when the western democracies succumb to authoritarianism.

Putin and his ilk will possess Europe, Xi and his lot will possess Asia, the Trumpites will possess the Americas, and the global population will be reduced to servility and feedstock for a minuscule elite.

The western alliances were the last bastion of freedom in the global triumvirate, and now they will choose a leader who has lusted for and been seduced by the personal power of the other two.

I’m kind of glad I’ll be dead before this all comes to its ultimate end, but I grieve for the generations of impoverished slaves and serfs who will follow. Orwells “1984” was far more prescient than anyone ever suspected.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Ml...&si=GmP0uBeU8rK1kKC-

And the people cheered and celebrated his victory, and their ‘nationalism’.

You are right there with us friend as you are ruled by Castros illegitimate son.

Orwell wrote 1884 as a warning as did Rand with Atlas Shrugged.

Unfortunately both sides have turned them into playbooks.

I actually find it heartening that there is a range of Dems being put forward.
The big question I have is can the democrat political elite put the past aside and actually go for a win, rather than push their insider?

Joe Manchin and Jon Tester seem like ones Id vote for too, given the situation.

It is a big question Shankspony.

I for one don't see that path forward materializing without cutting their umbilical cord to Vice President Harris.

I think that's where the Dems are at an impasse.

All things being equal. Id actually prefer Harris than Biden right now. I mean Jill having to stop him when he confuses another woman for her. I just feel sad about it all.
But I do agree Harris has too much baggage, and if democracy is as important too the dems as they say, then they cut that cord and bring in someone who can win.

Most of us sadly have experience with watching their loved ones fall apart.

I can speak with authority how much of a bitch the first step in the grieving process, denial, is.

So I too feel for what the Biden clan is going through.

The DNC and Harris are in the position of their own making.

They both have obviously known about and obfucated or worse denied the existence of the issue which is now front and center.

How, or if, they unwind this ball of string will be interesting to see.

Harris hasn't demonstrated any ability. I think she's advanced her career using her gender and ethnicity as well as her home state and peers.

I have a cousin in California whose about my age, a very smart and sensible lady and shed be very happy to tell you she voted for and will vote for Harris because she's a minority woman and a Democrat. That's it, all my cousin needs. Confused

I don't think our entire nation is on board with voting based on race and gender, but that's all Harris offers.

I'll go further to say at least Biden or what's left of him can assemble a responsible and capable Cabinet to run the nation while he naps. I feel no such confidence in Harris
