Spain is a US ally and are quite aware of our interests. They are not about to slip out of hte protective NATO umbrella. If they want to buy another jet so what? It's happened before. You ever thought it might just be a negotiating tactic?

i might add if you have a chance to look on a geographical chart you will see how spain is located and the access it is giving you to the mediterranean sea lol ... and you are right your allies do not have any pivotal role in anything lol

Civilian casualties would have been exponentially higher if the US had chose a ground invasion instead of using the bombs. That is not an arguable fact. Most estimates for Japanese civilian casualties in the event of a ground invasion of the Japanese home islands were over a million, some considerably so. In addition to several hundred thousand Americans. We gave them every chance to avoid the bombings. Warned them repeatedly. Even after both bombs were dropped and Hiroshima and Nagasaki were basically leveled, there were many Japanese who wanted to continue the fight. The Emperor had to step in and make the decision for them to surrender. In any event. They started it. We ended it.
