That it was "stupid" to suggest Hamas was Palestinian and the Palestinians were Hamas along with Rep Tlab.

Well, my heart does feel heavy for a group of people, some of who are innocent, that have despicable leaders who do this kind of thing.

Unfortunately for the lefties, the only real solution I see for the issue is that the Israelis go in, clean it out, and do some kind of occupation a la WWII.

The UN has proven over the years that while they can go in and reduce violence temporarily, they don't solve the problem as both sides end up as pawns in the money making scheme that is the UN.

I think it was Wikipedia I looked at, and if I remember right the figure put Hamas at 2% of population of the Palestinians. If the 98% actually didn't support Hamas, it would be easy for the 98% to cleanse their state "from the river to the sea" of Hamas.

Scott,
Hamas won the last election - that they allowed to be held - at over 44%
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...legislative_election

i would not be surprised if "2%" were the actual number of front line fighters - that is, using word choices to define downwards to exclude people until on comes up with a small number --

and I totally agree with you, it would be hard for 2% to rule the 98% for 18 years without some further support.

oh, btw, the PLO also won 41% in that election --
It's not like some kumbiya libel party was the other side of the coin
