fla3006I've had it done, more than once, chronic allergies & sinusitis. You may be in for a little more than 5 hours, and they may have you spend the night. Worst part is having packing removed a few days post-op, but it's not that bad.

jdollar4-5 hours is about right. i am an anesthesiologist and have put a lot of people to sleep for this surgery. and yes, the worst part is the packing removal in a few days.

SGraves155Aspirin is a common cause of polyps, as is allergic rhinitis.
I got rid of my polyps by stopping aspirin, using a short-term steroid nasal spray, and taking antihistamines and drying agents (belladonna alkaloids, like Donnatol). Exercising vigorously in cold weather also makes for increased irritation of nasal membranes and can aggravate the condition.

DuckearAfter surgery, long term use of a nasal steroid spray is the best bet to prevent recurrence.
