Yeah, I know. I was just trying to liven this place up and get something going. I haven't been on here much in the past year and it's really dead, like a ghost town.

I used to needle Rich quite a bit and was disappointed it never elicited a death threat. I guess he liked me.

First, as I mentioned when I made the bet, I had decided to keep out of the political forum anyway, the decision was made. By betting I was hoping for a long shot that would have benefited the hunting and shooting participants of the site. I didn't think Edmond would take a bet unless the odds were well in his favor. I don't think Grenadier is whining at all. I think he is voicing his observation that this place, including the African Forum which astounds me, is dead compared to what it was a few years ago. I don't necessarily agree with him that spillover from the ARPF is the reason (I have my theories) but the fact remains this site is a shadow of its former self.

The political talk was entertaining at a certain level but it elevated to the point that people were calling other people all sorts of insulting names and making wild posts just to piss people off. The political discussions broke down into childish banter and baiting. One of the recurrent themes is non-USA members insulting the USA. I don't mind telling you that as a US citizen I tired of that. I'd rather throw a drink in the face of a USA hater than listen to them spew their hate. But I was just as tired of the rest of it. I love a good argument but I do not enjoy trolling and spamming posts made simply for the sake of trolling and spamming.

I will also say that I cannot believe Saeed is happy with the way it has gone either. I honestly believe that he has painted himself into a corner and he doesn't have the guts to put things back to the way they were. I believe he fears the outrage of trolls and spammers who will undoubtedly call him a hypocrite after he has so long spoken of letting things go their own way. I believe he created this site because of a love for hunting and shooting and I believe he still holds that purpose dear.

The amount of time I spend here continues to decline but I will remain on AR as long as Saeed allows me and as long as there are good posts about hunting and shooting. Unlike the trolls and spammers, I participate in forums regarding those subjects and always have.

I have posted in the ARPF s lot over the years going back to 2005. I wasn't always known by this handle.

Point is, regardless of the handle you used.

Grenadier, did not have to leave the Crater, it was his decision.

Second point is that Saeed likes the way the Crater is operating!

As long as the Crater is generating the activity it is, Things Are NOT going to change!

Do not let him back on here.

I am 100% with you and Squirrel. The ARPF has become a shit hole simply because Saeed seems to like it that way. He loves the anti-American rants of the construct with the handle "Edmond", who probably isn't even a real person. While I have no issue with the anti-American ankle-biters, both foreign and domestic; I have no interst is scanning through dozens and dozens of posts by the Edmond construct. I am also weary of seeing it repeatedly bringing up old threads.

Every time the construct gets involved in a thread it turns to insults--guaranteed. It takes no great wit or intellect to be insulting. In fact, it's just the opposite. It has pushed everyone else to be insulting as well as there is simply no way to post in the crater and take the high road.

So I am out of the crater until the quality of interaction improves, and that will not happen as long as the construct is allowed to post. My desire has always been to have a place where honest men of differing thoughts can respectfully debate the merits of their ideas. The crater is presently the opposite of that and eliminating it would be no loss.......

Rich and a few others decided they owned this website/forum and could say whatever they wished. We are self policing to large extent, however, I am grateful Saeed and the moderators give several warnings and communicate with the offensive person before banning them.

If I were the owner, there might be more banning for some of the language and comments made here.

I personally never had a serious disagreement with Rich although we clashed a few times, but threats such as he sent are obviously over the top. He was warned numerous times, couldn't control himself, so he got what he asked for. After not being able to control himself before on several occasions, why should the next time be any different? Saeed made the call, leave it alone.

AFA Edmond, he has been extremely nice and helpful to me, including escorting my family around in Paris when they visited there some years back. He has gone through some rough patches in his life in the last few years that many of you would not wish on your worst enemy. I like him and wish him the best. He is a better man than many who bitch about him, I am certain of that. Since I don't live in the PF anymore, I can't comment on his "spamming" but such actions would be annoying, no doubt.

I consider him to be a good friend who helps those he likes and doesn't help or actively hinders those he doesn't. Instead of bitching so much, I recommend use of the "IGNORE" function. It will make your life so much more pleasant.

I never saw that post, but can't understand why he would ever be allowed back on AR if he posted that.

I looked up a couple of threads that Edmond participated in outside the political forum. I saw posts from people insulting France, with no provocation from Edmond. They dragged politics to another forum to insult Ed/France. This whole thread is just a bunch of whining. Go start your own site. Let the cool kids threaten to kill other posters but ban anyone who doesn't worship the ground Trump walks on.
