not good. i really wasn't impressed with much on the show. the elephant was a mess (out-of-the-box ears, tusks WAY exposed). the young girls deer was overly alert. the housecat was a joke...

eh. i wont watch another one.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

I would watch it again, but a bit to much drama for me. I think they over did it for sure but most if not all of the reality shows on these days are over the top.
Agree about the elephant and the house cat was really really bad. Not sure how they could diliver that bear mount in three days......

I agree. Big drama, staged scenes, etc..

One thing it did show was how some taxidermist have little or no concern for producing realistic looking or anatomically accurate mounts. Simply get it to the point where the customer is happy "dang...whooowee that thing looks alive" get it out the door and on to the next project. Some of the stuff they showed was not much better than a kindergarden craft project in my opinion. Open mouth anatomy reminiscent of a Howdy Doody ventriloquist doll, habitats not worthy of a model train set, I could go on....

In fairness the bear and wolverine mount looked decent but wait until that finish work dries. It will all have to be redone. Entertaining in "a makes you want to pull your hair out" kind of way!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

With all the true artist out there in the trade why did'nt the Discovery channel do their homework. Do you think they do this stuff on purpose,I meen show the outdoor sporting industy in a bad light to show that sportsman in general are a group of people that the world would be better off without. The preverbial BUBBA REDNECK.

Folks, it's a freakin' "reality show" NOT a taxidermy show. Remember reality TV never equals reality.

This is the number one reason I don't watch TV. When Larry the cable guy has a show on the History channel it's time to turn the TVs off guys.

Your right Frostbit, but keep in mind that this depiction of the taxidermy industry is the closest millions of people watching will ever come to it. Will we forever be the "uneducated redneck" STUFFIN dead animals?

Agreed.

Russel Knight of Anchorage has a show coming up on the History channel regarding Taxidermy. I've got the DVR set up to tape it. They were filming at the local SCI chapter banquet in Anchorage.

Russel's shop did my Brown Bear.
