Congrats my friend!!  "Jerry Huffaker of Abilene, Texas, swept the competition at the 2014 NTA convention in Springdale, Arkansas, with this desert bighorn sheep. He won the Breakthrough Award for Judges’ Choice Best of Show, 1st Place North American Grand Champion, Taxidermist of the Year, Chris Barnhardt Memorial Award, Bill Webb Memorial Award, Sinclair Clark Memorial Award, and the Safari Club International Award. For those that don't know our industry. Just about each state has a yearly competition with hundreds and hundreds of mounts at each show. Thousands upon thousands of taxidermy pieces entered in all these competitions. Each show has one winner "Best of Show" it is "The Breakthrough Award." The yearly National Competition has just as many mounts as a state show and again just one Breakthrough Award. The World Taxidermy Competition held every 2 years is put on by Breakthrough Magazine and has it's Breakthrough Award Winner "Best of Show" The Publisher has thousands of mounts he could publish on the cover and could also choose the Best in World title winners 12+ plus about 50 Breakthrough Award Best of Show winners. Yet he has only 4 covers yearly. Breakthrough is the premier Taxidermy industry magazine. Our very own Mr Humble Sensei Jerry is on cloud nine. He's won at least 3 Breakthrough's but had yet to make a cover and his list of awards is long. This one IS the Crème de la crème of all of them. Awards are forgotten but covers are not. I want to congratulate Jerry on his cover. I'm not going to talk about that mount LOL I already made the post of Congratulations on the mount when you won everything that they were awarding that day..LOL. I know how it feels when you pick up that magazine with that piece of you on the cover. Your work, your late nights, your sweat and toil, and what it means to you when hold it in your hand my friend.....So enjoy.
