Got my hides back from my Safari a few months ago, how long will they last in the salt?

Probably be better off getting them tanned, washed and in the freezer.

Good advice bo! I'd follow it Michael. If wet tanned, they can be stored in the freezer for a long time, but I wouldn't make that last for more than a year or two. It helps to spread out the taxidermy bill if you mount one every few months.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Ain't that the truth! I just picked up my full-mounted civet from my trip to Zimbabwe in 2010. Last of the taxidermy bill for the foreseeable future. Same taxidermist turned my muskox around in 5 months and worked around my timetable. It's handy to have a tame taxidermist around.
