Forgot to add these-

12 ga. sporting clays gun
12 ga. 3 1/2" waterfowl gun
20 ga. lightweight for chukars, pheasants and grouse.

I'm not seeing very many short mags on the lists.

Since we're talking big game, I'll leave out the .22 lr. It's been a few years since I've used one on deer. The ones I never want to be without are the .220 Swift, (damn coyotes), the 7x57 Mauser, 7mm remington Mag, and .375 H&H. I could even knock out the 7mm Mag and get by the rest of my life, and not kill any less game. if I did that I'd be tempted to throw in a .223 varmint rifle just to practice with.

For my hunting and shooting the 8x57 Mauser is just right. Reminds me of the Goldilocks story in that the cartridge is not too big, and not too small. Not too hot, and not too cold. You get the idea. I just wish someone like CZ made new rifles in this caliber for sale in the US.
