Looks like you'd play hell getting
that gun into action when you really
needed it.

wwgreenerI think that you could easily hook your sling with your thumb and pop it up and over. A minute of practice for muscle memory and you're good to go.
I don't think I need one to hunt mid-Atlantic farmland but if I get to hunt in tough terrain some day I can see where it could be very useful.

Yes, that's been my experience. I've used it hunting moose in the Swedish mountains and it works quite well as long as the chest strap on my day pack is fastened. I was using a loaner rifle with a suppressor and that does make the rifle want to rotate backwards. But it stayed on my shoulder very well.

SaeedExactly why I do not have any slings on my dangerous game hunting rifle.
I carry it on my shoulders, unencumbered by anything.
A very well known professional hunter told me that is how he would have his rifle if he was hunting too.
Tried a sling once, for half a day, during my long hunting life.
Took it off and never looked back.
I can understand the benefit of this setup ion mountain hunting though.
