I am getting more and more of the mind set that those among us that only use the score of the antlers/skulls/horns as the measuiring stick of the hunt, are not the real hunters among us.

They have cheapened the whole proccess all in the name of notoriety. I really wonder just exactly how many folks would be so adamant about the value of the various scoring clubs. if only the animal was recognised and the shooter kept anonymous.

The true measure of a hunt should be judged by the entire proccess, not just the tale of the tape. That is all just my opinion.

***Truer words were never spoken. IMHO putting ones name in a "BOOK" has ruined the noble sport many of us cherish for just what you stated! Keep the pictures coming guys. I especially like the gorgeous photo of the clouds parting to show that beautiful blue sky over the water.

Yeah buddy.

Great stuff.
Thanks Randall for starting the thread and for all that have posted your pics. This is the kind of thread you can go back to late at night and pour over each picuture and study all the subtle nuances.

And as to hunting trophies and scoring horns,

here are two that I am especially proud of.

The landowner really like me and my hunting bud.

Seems he had two exceptional 1 1 pointers! After some discussion he gave us the go ahead......

we hunted long and hard,

and as fate would have it

we both killed within 15 minutes of each other on different parts of the ranch.

And of course a celebratory picture was in order!

So for all you hard core trophy hunters

score this! Big Grin

.

I'm the short fat bald guy,

and no, my bud didn't eat both deer before we took the pix.

Best
