ForrestBProbably Mexican nationals. I don't think many foreign hunters frequent Oaxaca.

Forrest,
I believe some hunts for white-lipped pecarry, guans, and curasows are offered for Americans there. However, with our current US administration, it would make no difference.

JTEXMexico is a "Failed State" any American going there is taking a very serious risk.
.
We are close enough to the border that we are constantly getting the effects from a very violent culture that has no regard for human life. Be very careful with any trip to Mexico.
If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

swampshooterThere are a lot of bird hunts offered in that area that are popular with Americans. Mexican nationals can't afford to hunt and aren't allowed to own guns. Stay out of Mexico unless you want to commit nsuicide.

Actually a lot of us mexican nationals CAN afford to hunt, and are DEFINITIVELY allowed to own guns..... That being said, sadly our country is in a terrible state of affairs, and most people that own ranches out in the country away from the cities and up in the northern part of mexico, will not be going to them this year, the violence has gotten pretty bad down here...... I will be doing a lot of hunting in the dakotas, canada, and texas this year. Not so much in mexico except for ocacional trips to my ranch in the state of mexico to hunt ducks......

RyanBPatricio, is the guide for hire business up north hurting badly enough that I could lowball them on a coues deer hunt?
BTW guys, Mexico is about the 12th richest nation in the world. It's just concentrated into relatively few hands. As with anywhere the spandiards spent lots of time in, it can be pretty feudal.
Google Carlos Slim.

jdollarjust one more reason to avoid that cesspool of a country. i have no desire to die on a hunting trip unless i fall victim to an animal- not a narco-terrorist.

wasbeemanJust think about all the places, including our Nation's Capital, where a person, especially a white person, would be afraid to walk at night.

Rae59Any of you guys heard of the 2 &1/2 day WAR that went on in Nuevo Laredo about 3 weeks ago? It was a non-stop battle with use of hand grenades and .50 cal. machine gun fire. The explosions from the grenades rattled the windows on our side so bad that people flooded the 911 system in Laredo with calls. Reliable sources have told me that over 12 people were killed and some reports have put it much higher than that. There were reports that grenades were thrown under buses. All of this was word of mouth as my contacts have relatives/friends on the other side. By the way the mayor of Nuevo Laredo lives on our side in Laredo, I have been told.
The best part of it all is NOTHING was reported in our press of the whole matter.
