Got my 2006 6x6 Bull back from my taxidermist. Here's a couple pics after hanging him in the loading room:

I was very pleased with his work.

He told me the body was much larger than he initially thought, he had to use a 32" form. Not the largest rack, but he was definitely the mature king of the mountain in the 40 head herd we stalked that opening morning.

Have a Good One,

Reloader

Reloader, that looks great. A bigger form I understand, but it looks like you might need a bigger room!

Seriously though, that looks to be a nice bit of taxidermy, handsome bull!

Reloader,

beautiful bull, great looking mount an pix. I drew my first colorado elk tag this year. I think the success rate in this area is in mid 20% range . I should be so lucky as to take a bull like yours. Congrats!

Reloader, thanks for posting! Looks good to me. beer

So, tell me, is it as exciting for you as it is for me when the taxidermist either mails you the letter or calls you stating that your mount is finished and ready to be picked up?

It puts me in an INSTANT good mood.

Thanks all!

Yeah Fish, I need a bigger room for sure. My reloading/gun room is only about 12x14 and the walls are full of mounts. The wife only let me slip 3 into the living room and it took some prying to get that third one in last year Big Grin The office is getting pretty full as well.

Yeah Doc, I love it when he calls me. The guy does really good work for our area, pictures don't do them much justice.

I'm really looking forward to heading back West in a couple months. I only went with Mulie this year, he'll let me tack on an elk as well for another 1500 as my party of 4 will have the ranch to ourselves and only two are buying bull tags. I want to focus the five days on a trophy mulie, he said the abundant rain has kept the animals healthy and the rancher has seen several real nice bucks and bulls in velvet. Should be a great hunt weather permitting.

Good Luck to all of you this fall.

Reloader
