http://www.deeranddeerhunting....525482&rid=232386934 Saw this on another site. It's a sequence of about a 100 pics showing two coyotes taking down a mature deer.

I saw some coyotes drag down a mule deer doe about 20 years ago in Colorado. It was very violent, very noisy and very bloody. Nature can be a cruel mistress.

My thoughts exactly. Crummy way to go. Amazing that it took place all in the one spot over the course of 2+ hours. Helluva deer. ----------------------------------------- "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. -Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Crazy series of photos, though I think they could have given us the cliff noted version and not included EVERY picture (took a while to get through them all!). I think the most interesting part about it is that there appears to only be 2 coyotes taking the buck down. Just shows what they are capable of if they're hungry! I've got a ton down at my place, looks like I need to start getting after them a little harder than I have been. I found the sequence a bit peculiar. First is a daytime pic of a buck at what appears to be a bait spot. Then the pics begin again at night at the same spot. I have had a white flash trailcam out for many years and while the deer become used to it, the coyotes certainly don't like it at all. The pics don't lie, but something sure is strange. It looked to me like the buck may have been injured in the hindquarters before the coyotes got in to it. Maybe it got hit by a car beforehand? I have a hard time imagining that two coyotes, let alone these two small coyotes, could have messed with a buck that size if it was healthy and unconfined. A fawn - yes. . how could they get all that action to stay in front of the trail cam? could have been set up inside a fence, maybe
