New Tromix 358 SOCOM Test Fire (pic)
I fired the new .358 SOCOM today (.458 SOCOM necked to .358) and it pushed the 200gr Hornady FTX to 2504fps out of a 20" AR-15 barrel. That puts it in 358 Winchester territory.

Here's a pic of the a .375 SOCOM (L) beside a .358 SOCOM (R), along with some fired brass.

Shoot me an e-mail at tony.rumore@tromix.com and I'll put you on the .358 SOCOM list. It's probably going to be 6 months or so before we have dies.

Boomie, I'm thinking a longer case, for the AR-10 platform, some extra PSI's and voila a shit stomper.

A .358 Win should work just fine on an AR-10. There are AR-10s in .338 Federal available commercially.
