Can you spot the goof? -------- Had to copy/paste this AI post because the URL (when used here) only showed part of this paragraph.

*****The .300 Savage and the 7x57 Mauser are both good cartridges, but they differ in some key areas. The .300 Savage is generally considered to be a better choice for hunting due to its higher velocity and flatter trajectory, while the 7x57 Mauser is a bit more suitable for larger game due to its larger bullet diameter and greater energy at longer distances.

Yes, over and over with gun stuff.

AI can be helpful, is always confident, and is often wrong. Our developers use it a ton for software dev. And they love it. But can't totally trust it.

There are many stories going around about Lawyers getting sanctioned for using IA to write briefs and not checking them. It seems that the AI will invent fictional cases as precedent.

In the early days of CAD programs, a common question was whether the professional engineer is responsible for errors. Of course he is.

"Artificial intelligence" simply amalgamates whatever information is available to it. Since there is a huge volume of inaccurate information floating around in the cybersphere, AI repeats a lot of hogwash.

Regardless, AI seems a bit better than the average human brain in detecting bullshit, so its errors are less common than those of "the great unwashed".

AI stands for Abysmal Intelligence.
Politicians seem to use it a lot.

I suspect chatbots are twigged to certain mercantile interests, too.

A neighbour insisted I try 'Claude', and I thought I'd check it to see if my book and online utterances make any impression there.

So, I asked it to explain in what ways modern riflescopes are inferior to the pre-1957 concepts. No, it said, modern scopes are better in every way, and trotted out several paragraphs about waterproofness, lenses, coatings etc, but invited me to respond.

Therefore, I mentioned the physics of erector tubes under recoil and their heavy field stops. At that it seemed to know my contentions and laid them out in smooth phraseology.

But not over impressed with the experience, I asked it how I could cancel my subscription. It could not say, claiming to be a simple chatbot that wouldn't know about such things.

while most of the 'bots have resolved this, the joke was ask the AI how many Rs are in strawberry - it usually came back with 2

Anyway, you could train your AI on ballistics and get a better answer than from an untrained general ai.

All of the above. + AI has human qualities like guessing and could be's, you should's., might wanna's, etc. I think it should add one more and go "take a dump". (as in dump itself). rotflmo
