-the 30.06 180gr Core Lokt that I showed in another post that almost exited a wild boar base first
-same bullet, this time picture perfect, from another wild boar
-200gr Bear Claw from a 300 WinMag recovered from an Eland

this is a 30.06 180gr Core Lokt recovered from a wild boar after tumbling inside.

all four of them in the same picture

and this is an 8mm RWS H-Mantle Bullet launched at 2,950 fps. It it a 150lb wild boar in the ribs, broadside at about 170 yds, and failed to pass through after breaking completely.

hope you enjoy them!

Montero, I experienced the same problem (found empty jackets) with Sierra bullets. Since, I don't use them for hunting anymore. Anyway, it's quite surprising to see such an unsatisfying performance from an expensive bullet like a H-mantel.

It is, Wildboar.

I had one failing to exit on a slightly quartering away shot at a roe buck at 200 meters last Autumn!

A shame I could not find it in the mess it created in the chest cavity of the little roe.

Just back from my second Safari, had excellent results with 258 grain 9.3mm RWS H-Mantles, and spotty results with 130 grain .270 Nosler Partitions. The partitions acted more like solids on antelope at 300 yards than their normal expansion as seen on North American deer. On the other hand, the H-Mantles were superb, although I did not recover a single H-Mantle as they all shot thru.

Premier® Core-Lokt® Ultra Bonded

Premier Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded is a bullet in a class of its own. Developed and designed by Remington’s industry-leading R&D staff, and manufactured to our exacting process standards, Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded offers hunters the unique combination of excellent accuracy, superb weight retention and expansion with overall superior terminal results. The bonded bullet retains up to 95% of its original weight with maximum penetration and energy transfer. Featuring a progressively tapered jacket design, the Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded bullet initiates and controls expansion nearly 2x. The unique design of the bullet combined with the bonded lead core provides the hunter with a Premier bullet that yields unmatched performance from 50 yards to 500 yards and all yardages in-between. Premier Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded — the new standard in high-performance hunting bullets.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES
The proprietary manufacturing process of Premier Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded results in several key performance advantages over other premium bullets.

SUPERIOR ACCURACY
Typically, bonded bullets have heavy-walled jackets that can’t be formed with perfect symmetry. This results in varying shot-to-shot accuracy. But Remington’s new manufacturing process produces unmatched uniformity in jacket taper that significantly increases flight stability and accuracy for precise shot placement.

CONTROLLED EXPANSION
Because Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded’s lead core is bonded to a progressively tapered jacket, it expands reliably at all practical velocities. The bonding process keeps the bullet from fragmenting on close-range impacts. And the jacket taper initiates expansion as ranges increase.

HIGH WEIGHT RETENTION
Another advantage of the bonding process, Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded retains up to 95% of its weight on-game. Because it resists fragmentation and separation, the bullet retains its mass and, therefore, effectively transfers its energy. This provides superior knockdown power.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded combines the best in modern manufacturing technologies to give you the ultimate in terminal performance.
