Does anyone have any experience with the 7x57 Improved? How does it compare ballistically to the standard 7x57? Thanks for any help.

Ackely himself considered it to be one of his only real "improving" successes (along with the 250-3000 and 257). You should be able to get 280 performance or so, depending on the throat and the pressures. Recall that a lot of "improved" ballistics are probably, in truth, a combo of both the extra powder capacity and the tendency to stoke up it up to a bit higher pressure. This is sometimes justified by referring to less bolt push and stuff like that. Anyway...

I had one a number of years ago and it was right long side of the 7 mag from the 145 gr to 160 gr bullets. Great round. Tom
